There's not one day
That passes by where I try not to push you out of my mind.Waking up with the cracks in my heart,
Eyes opened too early, it's still too dark.I remember you and smile no more
And I think to myself, "what could I do to go back to before?"I can recall the early days
When you walked in and my heart changed.I sit down at the table with my daily glass of tears
Thinking about if loving you was a waste of my years.I wind down at night wondering if we're a day closer
Or another day further apart...I go to bed and repeat the same prayer ever night,
“God, only You can make this right.”I say amen
And then pretendI'll sleep peacefully tonight
To wake up on another morning knowing you might never be back in my life.
