Olivia's P.O.V

10 years later....

My how time flies by really fast. I never thought I would see the accomplishments my kids have made.

Avantae and SJ both fulfilled their dreams of making it to the NFL after having successful college careers at their father's alma mater, GAU. When the NFL draft came, it was fate and a sign from God that they would be able to play with their father when they were drafted by the Los Angeles Rams. Some haters would say they only made it because they have connections, but that is far from the truth. My boys are hard-working young men who earned to be in this position, just like their father. In addition, they would also be teammates with their cousin Lamar. Who would have thought, Lamar being the Rams QB1, Avantae being the new running back, and SJ lining up across/next to his dad on offense at wide receiver? Me and Spencer were emotional when we found out the news. As a mother to my boys, I couldn't be happier. Their stories are just beginning.

For my baby girl Amiyah, I've never seen her so committed to wanting to reach her goals. She reminds me a lot of myself when I was her age. She wanted to make a name for herself, just like me. And now her hard work has paid off when she got drafted by the Los Angeles Sparks as the number one pick in the WNBA draft. We were thrilled that Amiyah was getting the opportunity to live her dream. When she told her dad she wanted to play in the WNBA, she was determined to make it happen. We gave a lot of credit to A'ja Wilson and Candace Parker for taking the time to help Amayah develop her game since she was a little kid. She started drawing attention from college/WNBA scouts at a very young age, and this was a step in the right direction. When Amayah chose to attend GAU, she led the women's basketball team to winning back-to-back national championships before declaring for the WNBA. Many people believed that she would be one of the all-time greats. The way my baby girl has been playing, she is destined for greatness. I can't wait to see what's in store for her future.

Speaking of the future, my other baby girl, my firstborn, is getting married. I'd been waiting for this day to come, seeing my daughter walk down the aisle with her dad, and starting her life with her other half. Malakai Jones is Brianna's other half, I can tell because she reminds me a lot of me and Spencer when we first met and started to have feelings for each other. Malakai is a successful businessman and entrepreneur. Brianna met Malakai while they were both at a concert. Brianna was the lead choreographer for the famous musicians, and when they had live concerts, Brianna was always in charge and the shows were always a hit. Malakai was a big Jay Z fan and when he got tickets to Jay Z and Beyoncé, that's where he met Brianna. Some say it was just luck, but some say it was fate and destiny that brought Brianna and Malakai together. When I first met Malaki, he was polite and charming, and I could see why Brianna liked him. Spencer, on the other hand, took some time for him to accept that Brianna was in a serious relationship. I remember the first time they met, and Jordan was also there, and boy did they make it tough for him to earn their trust and respect. Poor Malakai. He was so uncomfortable at our family gathering. It felt like Bad Boys II when Reggie was being cursed out by Marcus and Mike. I confronted Spencer about his behavior, and he told me that he thought Malakai was not good enough for Brianna, but he didn't want to lose our baby girl. He and Jordan apologized for their behavior, and they eventually came around. What was also sincere of Malakai was he met me and Spencer face to face to ask for our daughter's hand in marriage. They have known each other since college. Like I said, it reminded me a lot of me and Spencer, yes we were working together business-wise, but we were also friends before we had feelings for each other, so we knew where Malakai was coming from. I thanked him for asking permission, and Spencer gave him his blessing after having a man-to-man conversation.

Brianna was surprised by the proposal Malakai set up and brought everyone together to witness it. She accepted and that's how we got here today.

Wedding Ceremony....

We were minutes away before we all got to witness Brianna and Malakai tie the knot. As the music started playing, we saw a little flower girl placing white rose petals as she was walking towards the aisle. Once she made her way to the altar, I picked her up. "Amazing job Gianna, your Mommy is happy you get to be a part of this day!"

"Thank you, Grandma!" She hugged me.

Gianna Isabella Jones was our first grandchild for me and Spencer. We were in shock at first when we heard the news that Brianna was pregnant, but Gianna was a blessing, and Brianna and Malakai never took it for granted as they were building their family.

As the musicians continued playing the music, I saw Brianna in her wedding dress with Spencer walking her down the aisle, and I couldn't control myself as tears were falling down my face.

Gianna was confused as to why I was crying. "Grandma, why are you crying?"

"I'm sorry Gianna. These are happy tears. Grandma is just happy to see your Mom and Dad getting married." I said as Gianna wiped my tears.

I could tell Spencer was emotional too. There were a few tears from both him and Brianna.

Spencer exchanged handshakes with Malakai and gave Brianna away to him.

The couple exchanged their vows, placed the wedding rings on their fingers, and then the reverend pronounced Brianna and Malakai husband and wife.

Then Malakai kissed Gianna and were officially announced as Mr. and Mrs. Malakai Jones.

After the ceremony, we all went to the reception and enjoyed the rest of the night with the newlyweds.

"Who'd of thought we be here today Spencer?"

"Our baby girl is officially married. She's in good hands and so is our granddaughter. Brianna will be an amazing mother and wife, she learned from the best."

I couldn't help but smile as Spencer held my hand.

"This won't be the last wedding Spencer. We'll see our other kids getting married to the love of their lives."

"Absolutely. I love you, Olivia James!"

"I love you, Spencer James!" We kissed each other with passion as if it were sparks on the 4th of July.
