Spencer's P.O.V

Five Years Later....

If these last five years have taught me something, it's to never take life for granted. I got to live out my dream and do it in a way I never expected. My other half, Olivia James, came into my life and she was there for me at my best and my worst. I don't know where I would be without her. She also blessed me by becoming a father to our four amazing kids who have grown up and started living their dreams.

"Hey, Spencer. How are you doing?" My wife comes to check on me before the main event.

"I'm good, but also a little nervous."

"Don't be. You earned this. Enjoy it. You only get inducted into the Hall of Fame once."

After hearing Liv's words of encouragement, she made me realize that this was a night to remember. Celebrating a successful NFL career.

"You're right Liv. Thank you. I don't know what'd I do without you. I love you."

"I love you more Spencer." She wraps her arms around my head and kisses me with passion. "You got this."

A Few Minutes Later....

Omniscient P.O.V

The NFL commissioner, Rodger Goodell makes his way to the podium. "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Pro Football Hall of Fame ceremony here in Los Angeles, California at SoFi Stadium. We are honored to officially induct Spencer James into the Hall of Fame. He was unanimously voted as First Ballot Hall of Famer, joining players like Tom Brady, Jerry Rice, Barry Sanders, and Peyton Manning. He passed Jerry Rice for most receiving yards, receiving touchdowns, and catches in NFL history. A once-in-a-generation player we all got to witness, and now we congratulate him on an amazing career. Please welcome to the podium, the best wide reliever to ever play in the NFL, Spencer James."

The audience clapped for Spencer as he made his way to the podium.

"Wow. This is an amazing honor to be tonight and be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Before I begin, I want to congratulate my fellow inductees for being entered into the Hall of Fame with me. None of this would be possible without all the people who have been with me throughout my journey in the NFL. I want to thank the Rams organization for taking a chance on me at a very young age and letting me help lead the team to win multiple Super Bowls. I have to thank the fans back in LA and throughout the world. I can assure you that even though I'm stepping away from the game, you guys will be in good hands."

Spencer takes a breath before continuing.

"I want to thank my friends and family for being there for me every step of the way. When I call your name, can you please stand up?"

"Davita, Kia, and Layla thank you for always supporting Jordan and me at all our games, win or lose; also when my boys entered the league, you were there for them as well. Greatly appreciated. And I'm very happy to be the godfather of my amazing godsons and goddaughters."

"Jordan, my brother, my QB1, I love you man. The journey we've been through together, through the good times and bad, we had each other back's. You are my QB1 in my book, any time of day I choose you. You played a part in the Rams being successful for many years. Now I'm excited to see you as the new head coach for the Rams. I know you'll continue to lead the team to contend for a Super Bowl for many years to come. But what I also loved was our interactions off the field, you made sure me and my family were good and had family gatherings, whether it was barbecues, birthdays for our kids, or grandkids, we're brothers for life."

"Dillon, if I ever needed to turn to someone when things were getting tough, you would always cheer me up. I'm so proud of the man you've become. As one of the top artists in LA, your hard work has paid off and Mom and Dad are very proud of you. I'm also happy to see you start your life with your other half. Jasmine, my sister, truly appreciates you being a part of this family and I love spending time with my nephew and niece (I wave to Daniel and Jessica and they wave and smile back)."
