Shan yu catch up

They find them/They're born

Shan Yu glared down at the small infant in his hand. His deceased wife on the bed in front of him, He didn't expect this to happen, He thought that they'd raise the child together, teach her how to fight and cook and take care of things. But now that his wife had died upon birth since she had been sick during the pregnancy, he was stuck with his daughter who he had to raise himself. He could raise her into a full warrior, that'd be easier than raising her into someone he was supposed to raised with his wife but that wasn't happened now, now he was the new father of a baby.

He didn't exactly hate the baby but he just didn't expect this hands-on role so quickly as he thought of the baby as a reminder of this moment.

He sighed as he reached over and pulled the blanket over his wife's face before standing up with the child and leaving the tent to not feel the tense silent air anymore. He went to his own tent and put the baby in the crib, he attempted to move away but felt the tiniest tug on his arm. He looked back and saw the baby gripping the leather of his glove tightly. Her eyes were still closed but she could still sense his presence and didn't want him to leave. Shan yu slowly sat down, not wanting to hurt her if he yanked his arm away. He didn't exactly have anywhere to be at the moment, he was the man in charge, HE says when and where they go at all times.

Bonding/Naming

Shan Yu was looking over the map to figure out where to go to next, they've already teared through almost half of china. It was very late at night as almost all of the huns were asleep, minus a few on guard duty. Shan Yu was awake because he couldn't fall asleep, for one specific reason..............

The familiar tug on his pant leg was recognized as he looked down at the infant next to him. It's been 8 months since the birth of his daughter and the death of his wife and he still hasn't named the child. "What do you want now?" He asked as she had come bothered him multiple times for the past few hours. "I thought you were supposed to be sleeping" He said wondering how she managed to escape. He looked over and saw that her cot was low to the ground, he ran a hand down his face as he's been meaning to get that higher but he never realized how much work a baby got him.

"Eh" The baby girl grunted pointing to the outside.

"you're not going outside, it's freezing" Shan Yu said turning back to the map. He expected the baby to go away and just sit in her cot but whenever he looked back, she was still sitting there, glaring at him. She had the same glare as him which made him let out a soft half-chuckle. '

Eventually, when he grew tired of her stare, he gave in which wasn't easy to get the hun leader to do. "Alright" he said picking her up and putting her little coat on before taking her outside.

The brisk chill swept over them when they stepped out under the already rising sun, causing an orange glow to cast over them. Shan Yu didn't even realize how late he had been up when he saw the sun rising.

He looked down at the child in his arm, wondering why on earth she wanted to be out here. The baby stared in curiosity at the sunrise as she thought it was amazing.

Shan Yu rose a brow, "That's all you wanted?" he asked as snowflakes fell around and on them.

The baby cooed happily as her eyes sparkled in the light and glowed with happiness.

Shan Yu felt a genuine smile twitch on his face as he slowly but gently let her sit on the snow, causing her to touch it in curiosity, whining slightly in shock when it was cold.

Shan Yu chuckled softly, "I suppose you'll need a name if you'll be staying here" he said softly, thinking for a moment as a snowflake landed on the little baby's nose, causing her to sneeze. "JinJing, it means bright, crystal and clear, you have a bright, crystal clear view about life.....like your mother" He said softly.
