It was dark by the time we could get out of the crowded city streets and without Kyten to help us navigate back it was only gonna be longer. Thankfully Ry'Tharr had some of his guards guide us out of the city so we didn't go out the wrong gate. When we were actually out of there it wasn't so hard to find the camp since all I had to do was follow the orange glow of the flames in the camp's direction.Every minute we traveled the flames grew bigger and brighter until the path got bumpier than usual. Then I heard Eris cry out in shock.
"Oh my god! Are those... " she paused.
"They don't look like they're ours us at least." Cragger said in reassurance. I just stayed silent until we got there, mainly because I couldn't think of anything to say.
As we got closer the bodies became more and more numerous until we reached the gates with two big piles of bodies. One of them the bodies wore leathers vaguely resembling uniforms. The other was filled people I very much knew. My eyes strained and pit began to grow in my stomach, and then began to fill with pain . I grabbed my head causing the tank swerved to the side, Cragger grabbed the wheel and parked it within the burning walls.
He tried to get my attention but it wasn't working, I couldn't even hear him and his arm draped over my back was as light as a feather. When I could see again I saw some people standing around a large body. There was no one else it could've been but my brother. I screamed his name in desperation and hurdled over the hood, throwing Cragger off me. I shoved lavertus out of the way and dropped to his level. I shook him a little and there was no response, I shook him roughly, almost slamming his head into the ground until the two behind me started to pull me off of him.
"Get off of him Laval! Goddamit he's alive! He's just passed out." Lavertus yelled to get my attention.
"Really?" I asked, starting to calm down. "What happened?"
"Someone stabbed him with a spear and he crashed from the chi I put in him. Here, we were attacked. An army of bandits came here looking for Cragger. When we told them he wasn't here they began firing." He told me.
"Who else survived?" I asked
"Besides us a couple hundred soldiers are searching around for medical supplies." He replied while scanning the area for them.
"How many injured? We need to get to Tetsu'Aagra and we need to leave now. Before the sun bakes us alive." I asked him.
"About 60, most can still walk and only about 5 can't. They can fit on the tank though." He told me.
"Well get them loaded up, we need to get there before the sun gets to the sky, Leonidas, go help him." I told the two.
After they cleared I stood looking out across the burned camp. I was so distracted I didn't even notice Lennox had got back up and was towering over me.
"Oh, you're awake." I said surprised.
"Yeah, It's a little difficult to not be when someone's shaking me back and forth." He responded.
"Sorry, I feared for the worst when I saw you unconscious." I admitted. "Can you walk at least?" I asked him.
"I am now, aren't I ? The chi Lavertus gave me fixed my leg." He said.
"Good, we need to leave as soon as possible for Tetsu'Aagra. Gather up everyone to prepare for the march there." I instructed him.
It didn't take long for the orders to be fully carried out, I bet everyone else was just as eager as I to leave this place as I. Before I made my way down to the common area the soldiers were already in a group resembling a formation.
