-Jahaan-

"So, how is psychology treating you so far, mates?" I ask to a bunch of psychology students.

Apparently, I am at BK medical college in order to supervise and interact with the psychology students. As far as psychology is concerned, it is a very interesting course to take but that requires a lot of determination which, some students lack. Many people take up psychology thinking that it won't require a lot of effort and knowledge compared to other medical courses however, it is one of the many difficult courses in medicine and that is why, many people regret taking it up once they get to know it. Psychologists are not usually addressed as doctors unless they have a PhD since they are limited to their ways of treatment such as; they can't prescribe medicines.

"We don't know."

"Good."

"Not good".

Everyone replies in unison with different answers and a chuckle escapes from my lips because I relate with all of them. During my time, I used to be just like that. Confused. I had days where I loved learning psychology, disliked it and days where I had absolutely no idea what I was doing.

"Understandable, but believe me, it is all worth it at the end. Take it from someone who went through all the different emotions that you all are going through right now. The day, when you will be able to know why a person is how he is, you will thank yourself for choosing psychology. Imagine having the power to read a person, inside and out and even being able to help them?" That is quite incredible.

" Mr. Jahaan, how long have you been into psychology?" A student asks.

"Nine long years including the study years. I will soon finish ten years." The students gasp probably thinking they have a long way to go. Well, it is just their first year.

.

After having a serious talk with the students for about two hours, I try to lighten the mood, "Besides, at the end, you can just do it for the sake of getting lots of money. We all want money, don't we? How are you going to keep your girlfriend or boyfriend happy without money?"

"Rohan, are you listening?" a guy I assume is his friend, teases him whereas Rohan just rolls his eyes. He is quite a good-looking guy.

"Rohan, you have a girlfriend, hm?" I also tease.

"No Sir, this prick is just rubbing salt on my wounds because I had one. She broke up with me two weeks ago," he says while the rest laugh at his sulking face.

"It is okay, Rohan. The earth is big enough for you to find another girl, even a better one. Don't cry over someone who has already left," I say while he just smiles and nods.

"Have you ever fallen in love, Mr. Jahaan?" A girl from the back asks.

Love? That is a very conflicted word. According to the world, every good feeling is love. Be it attraction or infatuation or even liking someone, it is given the name of love so when someone asks me whether I have ever fallen in love, I have to take a moment to reply according to their perspective. Personally, I have never fallen in love because I think when it is love, you just know it; and I have never felt that way. As good as it sounds, 'love' is the most misused word.

"No, miss..." I imply for her to tell me her name. "Priya. Priya Kumar."

"Miss Priya, to answer your question once again, I have never fallen in love." She nods, "Anyway guys, I think it's time for me to leave since I have to be somewhere else," I look at my watch to see the time,"I hope this interaction was of any use to you all. I wish the best to all of you for your future. Thank you for being here." I end the talk and take my leave from the college after bidding my goodbyes to the principal.
