A business-woman with a painful past that haunts her. She is emotionless and unmoved, or that is what she...
"Mummy, you go and attend the pooja. You know how I feel about all this so don't force me."
"Dhivti bacha, don't be like this. Chhaya has specially invited us to her place. She will feel bad."
Apparently, there is a Ganesh pooja at Chhaya aunty's place that my mother is forcing me to attend. I don't believe in all this and she knows it. I stopped believing in God three years back. How can I, when he snatched away all my happiness? The God that I used to believe, won't let anything bad happen to me, is the one who completely turned my life into something I can never make right. If I lost someone close to me because of him, he also lost a believer.
"Mummy, why are you doing this? You know why I don't want to come, then why?" I ask.
"Because it is high time you forgive everyone, bacha. Forgive your papa, God and most of all, yourself," She cups my face, while saying.
"And what do I get by forgiving?"
"A new start of your life."
"I don't want any new start mummy and as far as forgiving is concerned, your daughter doesn't have a heart big enough for that."
"She does, my daughter has the biggest heart, I know it. After all, she is my daughter. I raised her." I just sigh.
"Mummy, I am just coming to show aunty my face. Don't expect me to attend any pooja," she nods, understanding.
.
We reached the place when I realized this is also Mr. Joshi's home and I may probably have to see him again. This was definitely a bad idea. The house looks very beautiful though, I must say.

We enter to find aunty preparing, when she notices us.
"Aree, welcome Sheela, Dhivti beta, come in. Thank you so much for coming," she greets and hugs both of us. Chhaya aunty is a very sweet lady. I like her.
My mother helps Chhaya aunty in some preparations while I find my way out of the house, to keep myself busy. The deal was to just show Chhaya aunty my presence, nothing more than that. I find a table out in the garden, where I take a seat and, in the meantime, just check out some emails as it has been a long time since I last opened my mailbox.
"How do you find my home, miss Verma?" a sudden voice startles me. Jahaan Joshi. I look back to find him in formals as though, he just returned from work. "I am sorry, I didn't mean to startle you," he says as he walks towards the table.
"What are you doing here?" I ask and he chuckles, "are you seriously asking me what I am doing at my own place?"
"No, I meant here, in the garden," he takes a seat on the chair, opposite me.
"I came to take a call when I saw you sitting here. What are you doing here?"
