-Dhivti-

Why did I even agree to staying at his place?

How will I even tolerate his mischief which by the way keeps getting worse day by day. This man has a way with his charm. How can anyone be so serious and at the same time mischievous the way he is?

Jahaan Joshi is one man that makes me angry and blush at the same time.

I can't believe I agreed to stay here.
Hopefully, staying here does not change anything for me.

I am at the guest room right now replying to my mails. My brand is in the middle of creating a new product and many other companies are reaching out to me to have the first product review.

This is what I wanted. The success. The money. The rush. The people. The respect. The honour.

Then why? Even after achieving it all, there is a need for something else. It all still feels incomplete. There is a certain void in me. I have got everything I have wanted, then what is it that is making me so restless?

A knock on my door pulls me out of my thoughts.

"Come in," I say while my concentration is still on my phone.

"Hi baby."

My breath hitches.
Jahaan.

When he called me that on text, I was a blushing mess and my heart was doing somersaults.

I look up to see him leaning against the door with a small mischievous smile on his face.

"What do you want? And I am not baby," I say while glaring at him, trying to look like it doesn't affect me.

"I want you."

"Excuse me?"

"Uh... I mean..I want you to come for dinner. Let me at least finish my sentence, Dhivti," he dramatically rolls his eyes at me.
Did he just..?

"Did you just roll your eyes at me?"

"Did I now, baby?" he smirks.

I stand up from the bed and walk towards him.

"I am not your baby," I seethe while pointing at his chest.

I glare at him while he looks at me intensely which again makes me want to take a step back and hide under the blanket.
Those eyes...and the way they look at me. They make me feel exposed. Seen.

"Wh-why are you looking at me like that?" I ask while lowering my eyes.

"Do it more often, Dhivti."

"Do what?"

"Show your emotions to me."
I look back at him in confusion.

"This is the first time you have expressed your emotions to me even though it is anger. As long as it is directed to me, I will take all of it."

My heart is beating so fast. Did he really say that to me? How can anyone have such a way with words?

For the first time, I feel like hugging him. Tight. Maybe, I am the one in need of a hug. I don't know if I can hug him but if he hugged me right now, I don't think I would stop him.

I thought he was just trying to get on my nerves but in fact, he just wanted to get some emotion out of me. There was a time I vowed to myself that I won't let him get a reaction out of me because that would mean that I am showing him my emotions but today, he so effortlessly got a reaction out of me.

"Let's go for dinner," I say and move past him to go downstairs before my emotions take a toll on me and I end up hugging him.

I can feel him walking right behind me.
I walk towards the dining table and sit down. Jahaan sits right next to me.
God, why? Please don't make him do anything else now. I can't take it anymore.

"Dhivti beta, I specially made this gajar ka halwa for you. Try and tell me how it is," Chhaya aunty speaks as she passes me the bowl. I smile at her while taking some halwa on my plate.
I take the first bite and honestly, it is so delicious.

"It is delicious, Chhaya aunty. Thank you," I appreciate her.

"Jahaan, you taste too." My mother tells him.

"Don't bother, Sheetal. This man doesn't eat all these food. Apparently, it disturbs his physique. He eats gym for breakfast, lunch and dinner," Chhaya aunty says and rolls her eyes.

"Itna drama karne ki zarurat nahi hai, mummy. I eat all kinds of food but just have a limit to it," Jahaan says.
(You don't have to be so dramatic)

"Is it?" she questions.

"Yes," Jahaan says.

"So you will eat however much you are served? Without any obligations?"

"Uh...I guess so...," he hesitates and honestly, I find it so funny.

"Okay, Dhivti, serve him and don't hesitate, fill his plate. I want to see how true to his words he is," Chhaya aunty says and my eyes widen.

I look towards Jahaan to find his eyes on me. Why are his eyes always on me?

Suddenly, an idea pops up in my head. He likes teasing me a lot, right? I will make him regret now.

I smirk at him and pick up the bowl. He frowns, possibly thinking why I smirked at him.

I move my hand towards his plate and put a big quantity of halwa on his plate. Gym freak huh? That is for teasing me Joshi.

I smile thinking about his funny reaction. I move closer to him so I can whisper in his ears.
"Finish up, Mr. Joshi. I have heard you love food," I say, sarcasm oozing out of me.

When I don't get a reply, I look towards him expecting to see anger all over his face but I gasp when I see a smile on his face while intently gazing at me.

What the hell?
I immediately move back and keep my attention on my plate.

I feel him coming closer to me and I close my eyes.
"Aapke liye toh zeher khane ko bhi taiyar hai, Dhivti ji," he whispers.
(For you, I am even ready to eat poison, Dhivti)

My heart does a somersault. Is this even normal?
I move my gaze towards him to see a mischievous smile playing on his lips. I glare at him and he chuckles while moving back.

Guess what? He actually ate all of it.
God, what is this man?

After dinner, I go to the terrace for some fresh air.
The terrace looks so peaceful. The moon and the stars are glowing more today.

I see a swing and sit there.
I look up at the sky.

Jahaan comes into my mind.
How he distracted me from my thoughts earlier in the room.
He so effortlessly does everything for me.

Now that I think about it, these feelings that I am harboring towards him...they are different.

I think I like that mischievous over protective man.

I smile.
