-Jahaan-

"Jahaan, come with me. I need to buy a perfect ring," A panicked Aarav barges into my office.

"What got your ass all panicky, Aarav?"

"Bro, this is not the time to go all sarcastic on me. Have you forgotten? I am getting engaged in a freaking week and I don't have a ring for Anisha yet."

"I don't get the part where I am needed. Go and get the ring. Simple."

"No Jahaan, Anisha is just perfect and I need a perfect ring for her so I need help to find that kind of a ring."

"Again, where the hell do I come in, in all this?" I say

"JUST COME WITH ME," he yells and practically drags me out of my office with him. Ever heard of whipped? That's Aarav Shah for you all. It was basically like a love at first sight for him, of course after all the denial phases he went through. However, I am happy for Aarav. He deserves all of it. He deserves a partner as good as Anisha because I know, how his life has been. Aarav was a lost cause. He spent half of his life, drinking because he lost his parents to death in a car accident. It hurt to see him spoiling his life, every single day and it seemed as though, I wasn't enough for him to be better. Luckily, Anisha came in. She changed Aarav for good. She healed him.

.

We are at Miona Jewelers to get the ring and as far as Aarav's face is expressing, he is not impressed with any of the rings. This is literally the third jewelry shop we are at and this man refuses to buy a damn ring.

"No yaar, Jahaan. I don't like these rings too," he starts and I roll my eyes. Of course, I know that. His face gave it away.

"Aarav, you are behaving like a girl who can't choose what clothes to wear. Stop your damn tantrums and get a fucking ring. How hard can it be?" I state and he just glares at me.

"I don't like them. How is Anisha supposed to like it?"

"Then keep looking, I am leaving."

"How can you leave your brother from another mother when he is in such a dilemma? Is this how friendship is supposed to be like?" he says dramatically and I just roll my eyes, again.

"And how can you be such a drama queen?" He just makes a face and stands up to leave.

"Where are we going now?" I ask

"KK jewelers, just nearby."

KK jewelers. That is next to Dhivti's place. It has been a week since my encounter with her and honestly speaking, that woman has been in my mind ever since. She is hard-headed and yet, the most adorable woman I have come across. Those sarcastic remarks and the glares she threw towards me, I am a total fan of them. My presence affects her, I know it. This time, I have really noticed it. She avoids my gaze on purpose and when we were at the dining table, she was clutching on her dress pants. She was nervous and to see Dhivti Verma nervous, only means something or someone is affecting her. That someone being me, in this case. Oh, and how I loved teasing her in the kitchen after realizing I affect her in some way. Although, I give her full points for not letting her face give away her nervousness but it also astonishes me with how well she hides her emotions, even from her eyes. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I was still unable to read her eyes even after all those eye-locks.

"Whose thoughts are you lost in, Jahaan?" Aarav asks, breaking my train of thoughts. I look towards him, only to find him smirking.

"No one."

"Or, is it Dhivti, hm?" his smirk widens. I know where this is coming from. How could I forget the unbreakable bond between my mother and best friend? I remember what she told me in the car as we were returning from Dhivti's place.

"She is the one, right?"

"What do you mean?"

"The one Aarav told me about," I looked at her dumbfounded.

"How did you know?"

"I saw how you were looking at her," she shrugs

"How was I looking at her?"

"Like someone finally piqued your interest," she smiled and I wondered if that was true. Yes, Dhivti Verma might have caught my attention but for what and why? I have no idea.

"I forgot I have spies around me. You and mummy should stop bitching about me and no, I definitely was not thinking about Dhivti."

"Sure sure, why would you think about her? You would rather stare at her," he teases further while I just glare at him to shut him up.

To be honest, I would stare at her. I mean...anyone would. She is magnificent and I bet she is oblivious of it.

We reach KK jewelers; however, I get a call and stay outside to attend it while Aarav enters.

"Yes, Mr. Rajat?" I pick up and start.

"Mr. Jahaan, there is a patient file that I cannot find. I wanted to ask if you have it."

"Which patient are you talking about?"

"Rahul Desai."

"Oh yes, I was working on him. His file is in my office, on the table. Why do you need it?"

"Nothing serious, I just had some queries related to his file."

"Okay. You can pick it from my office," I say and hang up the call.

Just as I am about to enter, my eyes settle on someone familiar on the pavement, opposite of me. The same woman who has been haunting my mind since the past few days. Dhivti Verma. She is on her knees and looks as if she is talking to someone. She moves a little which enables me to have a look at who she is talking to. Street kids. There are three street kids whom she is talking with. She pats one of the kids' head and offers them some money and three bottles of water, one for each. First the stray dog and now the kids. Too much for being emotionless, miss Verma. You show different and do different. Not fair.

"Jahaan, let's go," Aarav comes out with a displeased face.

"Why did you come out already? No rings here too?" I ask

"No, but the jeweler told me he will get a new stock tomorrow so I will probably wait till tomorrow," he replies.

"Then why are you sulking? You come back tomorrow. Let us go now."

"Yes, but what if I don't get the kind of ring that I want even tomorrow?"

"Then you give her a paper ring. I am sure she will understand," he glares at me and I laugh at him, "let's go back now," I say and we start walking towards the car.

I look back to where Dhivti was only to find her already gone.

Dhivti Verma is a case that I, Jahaan Joshi, will solve.
