Part 7 - Burnt out

My head was throbbing like crazy. I cried my heart out last night and it did me no good. I went straight to my bathroom to take a shower and when I glanced at myself in the mirror, I literally looked devastated right now. My eyes were puffy, my nose is still red, and my hair is a mess.

I quickly took a warm shower and dressed myself. Today, I chose to wear my black oversized hoodie and a pair of black leggings paired with my black old school vans. I fixed my hair and brushed my teeth and headed downstairs.

"Are you feeling better dear? I'm so sorry for what happened yesterday. I'll try my best to find Bridgette." My Aunt said while examining me.

"I'm trying to be strong, Auntie!" I sighed weakly. She gave me a light hug and she rubbed my back. The events from yesterday has taken its toll on me bigtime. I do feel burnt out from all of this.

"We will find her okay?". She said in a motherly-concerned tone.

"I'm not losing any hope, Auntie." I responded to her. I skipped breakfast and I'm not really in the mood to eat anything. I just grabbed an apple and put it in my bag and my Aunt drove me straight to my school.

I put on my hoodie so nobody can see my face. I headed straight to my locker and grabbed everything I needed for my morning classes. I got some of my notebooks and books. Along with my pencil case and binder.

"There you are! Tori! I've been waiting for you!" Almost yelled by Elina. She said this while walking towards me.

"And why is that?" I asked. As I carried all my stuff. I hope she don't notice my face.

"First of all, what happened to your face??" She furrowed her brow and asked me. Shoot! Is it really that obvious?

"I.. um.. something bad happened yesterday. But I really can't talk about it right now." I said. I just hope that she will not question me.

"Oh your poor thing! You looked like a tomato right now. Just so you know that I'm here to listen whenever you are ready okay?" She chuckled and said it to me teasingly. She's trying really hard to lighten up my mood.

"I know!" I sighed. "I'll be fine. I'll talk to you later!" I assured her.

The bell rang signaling that first period is going to start. Morning classes went by so quickly that I did not realize it's time for lunch. Elina and I sprinted our way to the cafeteria and quickly grabbed our lunch. Today our school got some chicken tenders, salad, carrots with ranch, and Apple juice.

As we approached the table, I bowed down my head and I can feel the heavy stare of Alec through me. He's with the girl he made out yesterday! For some reason, It makes my blood boil and it hurts as well. I think i'm losing my appetite by just sitting here. Ugh! Everything seems piling up and I'm about to lose it any minute now.

"Are you okay, Tori? You looked so pale. And your eyes are puffy!" Asked one of his friend, Drew. Great, he noticed it!

"I'm okay. I just need to get some water" I said as I stand up from my seat. To be honest, I am not. I haven't eaten anything since yesterday. After what happened to Bridgette, I just can't eat and forget about her!

"She had an allergic reaction from her dinner last night. She's allergic to peanuts" Elina responded. Thanks for the save, Elina! I mouthed her 'thank you'.

As I stand up, my head instantly goes spinning and I felt really dizzy. The next I know is everything turned black.

(Alec's P.O.V)

I didn't know what got into me that I am treating my mate this way. I know she's hurting because I can feel her sorrow too. The mate bond is way too strong that you can feel each other's feelings. Except for me. She will never know what I feel since i'm an Alpha. She will only know if I have already marked her and completed the mating process. For now, I am the only who can feel what she's been going through. I know for a fact that she feels devastated about what she saw yesterday. And she's human as well so the mate bond is not that strong for her.

I have my reasons. I needed to do this for now to protect her. I can't just announce to everyone that I have found my mate. The future Luna of the most feared and respected pack of all. I am being targeted by a lot of pack since I am the highest among all of them. I don't want to drag her into this mess. I hope she will understand when it's time.

Tori passed out in front of all of us. I quickly stand up and made my way to her.

"Nobody touches her!" I commanded. I quickly get to her and carried her bridal style and took her to the infirmary. Everybody inside the cafeteria was starring at me in shocked.

"Make sure she's okay and call her Aunt." I ordered the pack's doctor and she immediately went outside the room to call Tori's aunt. I have been investigating about her and her life these past few days. I found out her parents died when she was 14 and her aunt took her and she became her legal guardian now. I am worried about her right now. I saw her this morning and I know she's been crying all night. I blame myself for that and I am truly sorry for her. I'll just wait here til she wakes up.
