Part 8 - Threat

(Tori's P.O.V)

I slowly opened my eyes and the bright lights made me instantly squint my eyes shut again. I believe that I am currently in our school's clinic and I am laying down in a bed. I scanned the room and found Alec standing next to the Doctor and they're talking to each other.

"She's going to be fine, Alpha. She just needs more rest to get her strength back. She'll be awake in no time." The doctor almost whispered. Alpha? Does she mean Alec? And why is he even here??

"Good to know." Alec responded. As I was about to say something, my aunt suddenly arrived.

"Tori? Tori?? Are you okay?? You got me worried sick!" My aunt said while examining me.

"Umm, i'm fine Aunt Mia. No need to worry about me." I shyly said to her since Alec and the Doctor is still here.

"Is she really fine Doctor?"

"Yes she is. She just needs more rest for now and probably eat more food." The Doctor assured her.

"Great! Thank you so much for taking good care of her. Alec." My aunt bowed her head lightly. What? I'm confused. Maybe I'm just hallucinating since I just passed out.

"Mia." He answered back to my aunt. What the? They know each other? First name basis?

"What happened? Tori?" She asked curiously.

"I took her here when she passed out earlier in the cafeteria. I just had to make sure she's fine. Elina said she had bad allergies from something she ate at home" He answered. What?? Suddenly he is concerned to me now? Joke is on you, Alec!

"Tori.. you still haven't eaten haven't you?" My Aunt asked.

"I'm okay. Please! Can I go home now?" I tried to avoid their gazes towards me. Alec is staring at me blankly.

The Doctor finally permitted me to go home. It's been a long day.

"Tori, please! I know you're hurting for losing Bridgette but please! Don't be so hard on yourself!" She pleaded. "I'm going out to the animal shelter in a bit."

"Can I come?" I asked.

"No. You're not capable of that right now. Take a rest and stay at home." 

I sighed in defeat. I slowly creep to the window and saw my aunt's car leaving the driveway. I impulsively went upstairs to change. I changed into a much more comfortable clothes to go to the woods again to find my dog. Call me stubborn but I don't care. All I care about is finding her.

I put on my oversized hoodie and sprinted towards that forest. I was walking for about thirty minutes now, i'm sure as hell that i'm far from home now.

*twigs snapped*

I followed the sound and was greeted by a creepy looking man.

"Are you lost beautiful?" He said huskily.

"N-no. I-i was just looking for my dog." I responded. I am scared. It is evident in my voice.

"You're so beautiful to be lost in this part of the town. Yet alone the forest. Why don't you come with me so I can show you around? And are you looking for a white small dog?" This creepy looking man invited me to join him. He's probably around thirty or something.

"Y-yes! That's my girl! Where is she?" I asked him. A new sign of hope sparkled inside my heart as I heard that someone has spotted her in this forest.

"Bad news is, she's gone. An unidentified animal probably attcked her. Come with me. I'll show you where she's at" my soul shattered into a million pieces.

He gestured me into a small cave and there she was. My baby. Lying lifeless in the dirty ground. Tears immediately fall from my eyes as I looked at her.

"Now that you found her with my help. Why don't you return the favor to me? Let's get your mind off of your dog and let's have fun" the creepy man said. He's standing in the nearby tree leaning against it with his arm crossed.

"N-no." I responded. I am scared for my life right now. What if he killed Bridgette?

He started walking his way towards me while looking at me hungrily.

He was about to approach me when another twigs snapped again. This time, it's coming from behind me.

"Take one more step towards her and I swear I'll tear you to pieces!" Growled by Alec furiously. He walks right in front of me and positioned himself defensively. I am now standing behind him and I could no longer see the creepy man.

"Oh Alpha Alec! Nice to see you here!" He said. He got tense in the presence of Alec for quite a bit "I just want to be friends with that beautiful girl!" He smirked.

"I dare you to make another move. C'mon it'll be fun!" said Alec as he challenged him. Is Alec out of his mind?? What if this man suddenly lounges at us! My breathing is increasing rapidly. My heart is pounding so loud that I am cold sweating and my hands are shaking.

"What is she to you, Alpha? Is she your mate?" The guy furrowed his brow.

"Leave or else I'm going to kill you!" Alec responded to him furiously.

"I'll see you again soon, beautiful." He smiled creepily to me. He then run into the forest and disappeared out of nowhere.

Alec turned around the faced me. I couldn't help but feel dizzy about it. I almost fell. Thankfully, Alec was there to save me. He is now holding me by my side.

"Are you crazy? What are you doing here alone?" He said madly. I can't help it any longer. I began to cry.

"Oh shit! I'm sorry for yelling at you. No please! I'm sorry!" Alec panicked as he saw me crying.

"I lost my dog here and it's been a day since I last saw her. And now that I finally foung her, she's gone. Forever" I responded sadly. I was about to say something but he immediately pulled me into a hug and I am now burried in his rock hard chest. He rubbed my back to comfort me and we stayed like that for a while.

"I am sorry for your loss. For now, let's take you home. You just got out from the infirmary earlier. You need to rest." he speaks while he holds my hand and pulls me towards the direction of my home.

"Can we at least get her and burry her properly?"

"I'll carry her." Without hesitation, Alec carried the lifeless body of Bridgette towards our backyard. He then went to our tool box and took the shovel and dug the ground. While he did that, I took a box, put a soft blanket for Bridgette and laid her there. I added her favorite tiny ball inside and her torn bunny plushie. I took her collar belt with a personalized pendant that has an engraved tag on it. After that, Alec and I went inside the house.

We sat in our couch and I'm still in his arm and he refused to let me go. My aunt arrived and saw me and Alec and she just smiled. Which is really unusual. Knowing her, she would definitely freaked out. Especially now that I am still in Alec's arms wrapped aroud me. Being in Alec's arms is really soothing. Just like what I needed.

"Stay for dinner, Alec. I just bought some take out food." My Aunt offered which Alec accepted without hesitation.
