Part 9 - Eavesdropping

Before we eat our dinner, I quickly change into a plain white shirt and a plaid blue pajama. After that, I jogged my way downstairs to eat with Aunt Mia and Alec.

"When are you going to tell her?" Alec said seriously. Tell me what exactly??

"Give me some more time, please! She's not ready for it, Alpha." My aunt responded. Ready for what??

"Threats for her are already coming. She encountered a rogue earlier and she almost got hurt. They already knew she's my mate and her being in this house will only put her life at risk. I can't protect her if she's not with me. She needs to move into the pack's house where I can make sure that she will always be safe."

"Yes, Alpha. I will arrange that as soon as possible."

What the hell? What are they talking about?

I cleared my throat and seated beside Alec. They both looked at each other and they looked like they're still talking to each other.

"Tori, I have to talk to you about something." She said. Is this thy part where she tells me about her conversation with Alec?

"I'll be gone in a few weeks for a business trip. Leaving you alone here in this house makes me scared. I don't want anything bad happening to you."

"I can manage to be alone, Auntie. Don't worry too much. And Alec is still here we can talk about it later." I responded while taking a sip of the Ice tea that my aunt bought.

"No. I'm not comfortable with that Idea. Besides, I asked Alec if you can stay with him for a while." She continued.

"What?! Are you serious?! You're letting me stay with a complete stranger?" My voice sounded so irritated. I know I cuddled with him earlier but living with him is completely outrageous!

"They're not strangers, Victoria." She's using my full name which means she is dead serious right now. "They're the only one I can trust to leave you with. I am working for their company. Please! I'll explain everything when I get back."

I sighed in defeat. Do I even have a choice for my own life?

Alec cleared his throat. "You're going to be staying in my house. Our friends, Elina, Drew, Jarred, David, And Angela will all be there. I'll make sure your stay will be comfortable as much as possible." He assured me.

"You're leaving first thing tomorrow since it's Saturday and you don't have class, you can pack lightly since Alec's house is not that far from here." My Aunt added. I just nodded at her and I honestly don't know what to say. I don't have the time to argue for now. Instead, my mind wander from everything that has been happening lately.

Rogue, Mate, Alec being the Alpha. Let me connect the dots and do my research and I will have my answers before they even know it.

Alec refused to leave for the night. He insisted to stay and be with me til tomorrow morning which I find really disturbing. I'm currently inside my room and Alec is in the living room downstairs. I packed as I was instructed by my Aunt. I made sure that I have everything that I needed before I placed my suitcase on the stairs entrance. It's not that heavy since all I brought with me was my clothes and other personal stuff.

I'm struggling to carry it downstairs and Alec must've heard me he immediately grabbed my suitcase and carry it like it was nothing. Impressing I would say. I smiled at him and thanked him.

"You're not going to leave aren't you?" I asked him.

"No-pe!" Popping the P.

I shrugged my shoulders and went back upstairs. I need to grab another suitcase. I was about to carry it again but Alec called me out.

"How many suitcases do you have?" He chuckled. Probably amazed by how huge these suitcases are.

I rolled my eyes at him playfully. "I have two and that's pretty much everything I needed while my Aunt is gone." I giggled as well. I'm that kind of person that when you tell me to pack lightly, I would pack my entire house for a two day trip.

It's getting late already. It's almost midnight now and I'm getting sleepy. Probably really tired with how eventful today was. I tried to calm myself since I know that I will be leaving in the same roof as him. But before I decided to sleep, I remembered something. I pulled out my laptop and decided to do my research. About Mates, Rogues, and Alpha. That's all I've got so far from what I've heard from the people around me. I googled everything and surprised with what I found out.

Alpha means a leader of a pack. Mostly used for wolves.

Mate is a short term for soulmate. Upon researching more, the moon goddess will bless you with only 1 mate in a lifetime.

Rogue is someone that is not belonged to any pack or even banished from one.

This doesn't makes any sense at all because if I connect all the dots, it would lead to Alec becoming a werewolf! A freaking mythical creature! I groaned and didn't realize that I have spent a least three hours researching about all these. That's it! This is pointless! I slammed closed my laptop and decided to sleep.
