💌⏰ Flowers

(man I havent written here in so long) 

Tsukasa is waiting at the school gate so he can walk home with Rui, except he's currently 10 minutes late... "What on Earth is taking him so long...?!" the star thinks to himself impatiently, and also with a hint of anxiety as he worries about Rui's wellbeing. Meanwhile, Rui is tending to the flowers in his greenhouse garden. He forgot about walking home since he remembered something he wanted to do with these flowers...

"Hehe... I'm sure he'll love these. I'll send him a text..." Rui mutters to himself as he pulls his phone out of his pocket and opens the texting app, tapping on Tsukasa's contact. He finds that Tsukasa sent a text to him, 18 seconds ago.

[Tsukasa's text] "RUI!!! WHERE THE HECK ARE YOU?!?! ARE YOU ALRIGHT?!?!?!" As Rui reads the message, he realises his mistake and chuckles to himself. It always causes his heart to flutter whenever Tsukasa shows such concern and care for him. He texts back:

[Rui's text] "Don't worry Tsukasa-kun, I'm completely fine. I wanted to meet you at my garden today, but I forgot to tell you... Sorry about that hehe"

Tsukasa exhales heavily in relief, and starts making his way over to Rui's garden, still recovering from the worst-possible-scenarios he was imagining. Once he reaches his destination, he is greeted by the sight of Rui tending to some beautiful self-grown flowers. Tsukasa's eyes widen at the beauty of the sight, and he smiles approvingly.

"These are absolutely wonderful, Rui! I presume you were planning on showing them off to me?" Tsukasa takes a few steps forward so that he stands right next to Rui.

"Why yes," Rui puts his watering can to the side. "I was. I'm glad you like them..." Rui bends down and strokes the petals of one of the flowers, which is quite a vibrant yellow colour. It stands proudly and seems to stick out more obviously compared to the other flowers, causing it to resemble a certain someone that Rui definitely didn't (did) grow this flower for. "What do you think of this one, Tsukasa-kun?"

The blond boy's eyes light up at the sight of the flower, as it seems to somewhat resonate with him. He nods enthusiastically, also reaching out to touch the petal. "IT'S SPLENDID!!!! You're such a talented gardener, Rui!" He turns to face Rui and gives him a beaming grin. The latter feels his heart seem to thump a little harder at the sight of such a cute smile.

"Hehe, thanks..." Rui thinks to himself for a moment. "Tsukasa-kun is so adorable... I wonder how he would look if I-..."

"One moment. Wait right there, and cover your eyes." Rui orders, and Tsukasa does as he's told to. Now that Tsukasa's eyes are covered, Rui walks over to a shelf with a few flowers that he grew previously and picked, many of them being a purple-ish kind of colour. He gently and carefully chains them together, making sure not to damage the delicate plants. He then walks back over to Tsukasa and places the flower crown he just created onto Tsukasa's head. "Okay, now open your eyes."

Tsukasa opens his eyes as instructed, but he just gives Rui a skeptical and confused look. He feels a slight blush on his cheeks as he turns to find Rui stood right behind him and giving him a sweet smile, but tries to ignore it as to not embarrass himself...

"... What did you put on my head, Rui...?" Rui chuckles in response, and pulls his phone out again so he can show Tsukasa the flower crown using the camera app.  The purple-haired boy sets the camera to face forwards and absent-mindedly wraps one arm around Tsukasa's shoulders while using the other to hold out the phone and show him how he looks.

"I made a flower crown for you. See, you look so cute... It really suits you, Tsukasa-kun." Rui states bluntly, a bit of blush on his face at his honesty. He snaps a picture of the two of them, in which both boys have a rather flushed face.

Feeling a bit overwhelmed by Rui's sudden boldness, Tsukasa's face flushes significantly in embarrassment, and also... Affection...? He can't deny the fact that he feels... Very fond of Rui for some reason. "I couldn't be in love, right...?" (hes totally in love) He unconsciously reaches his hands up to Rui's arm and holds it, just because.

"R-... R-RUUUIIIIIIIIIIIiiiiiiiiII??!?!?!?!?!?" He squeaks in a comically and uncharacteristically high pitched voice, his voice cracking near the end. "Wh-what do you mean I'm... 'c-cute'...?!?! Y-you can't be serious..."

Rui slips his phone back into his pocket and wraps his other arm around Tsukasa's shoulders as well, still with that sweet smile on his face.

"I meant what I said, hehe... Oh, also... I wanted to tell you that I love you, Tsukasa-kun!" Rui continues his embrace, a blush still decorating his content expression.

Tsukasa's face turns fully red at Rui's confession. "What... DID HE JUST SAY...?!" His voice grows quiet and trembly as his hands cling tighter onto Rui's warm arms embracing his shoulders.

"R-Rui... You... Did you actually just-...?"

He nods. "Yes, yes I did. I love you, Tsukasa-kun..."

There's about a minute of silence as Tsukasa processes what just happened. His best friend just admitted that he loves him... And he clearly means it from the bottom of his heart, too. This is a lot to take in for the boy...

"..."

"... I love you too, Rui."

(insert crowd cheering here)

As Rui hears Tsukasa's reply, he hugs him slightly tighter, his smile growing as he now realises what this means. The two of them are now romantic partners... After another, shorter moment of silence, Tsukasa turns around to return Rui's hug, and hugs him back even tighter. The two continue to embrace for a long time, just enjoying this precious, wholesome moment with each other.
