We're Back

Aurora's POV

It was visiting day and my father came to see me. I walk into the room and see him sitting all the way on the other side. The smile on my face turns into a worried frown within seconds. He's pale, and looks too weak to even stand.

"Dad? What's wrong? What's going on?" I said into his ear while giving him a hug.

In almost a whisper he replies "you're being sent to earth..." he pauses trying to stop the tears coming done from his already red, tired looking blue eyes. "You and a about 100 others are being sent down to see if it's survivable, because the Ark is dying."

I tried not to cry I tried to stay tough for him. For me.

I sat quietly while my father explained what was going to happen this afternoon.

"Aurora I need you to be strong, for me and for everyone. Okay?"

I nodded. That was all I could really do. I was at a loss for words.

"Do you remember Mrs. Griffin?"

"Yes, why?"

"Okay. Her daughter Clarke will also be going down to earth with you, and you two need to work together. You will be the only one with enough skills to survive down there" he stops for a second when I see tears coming down his face. "And you two will be the only ones with medical training."

I wipe away some of my father's tears. I couldn't stand seeing him like this.

"Aurora, you need to take care of those kids."

"I will, I promise" at this point, I've lost all colour in my face

The whistle blew and visitors had to leave. Me and my dad stood up and hugged each other one last time.

"I love you Aurora. Your mother would have been proud."

"I love you too dad."

"You are the strongest person I know. You can do this. Okay baby girl?"

"Okay dad." My voice was raspy. As soon as I turned my back on him tears flowed done my face. I couldn't hold them in any longer.

It was noon and we were supposed to be going in at 3 o'clock. But for now it was time for lunch.

I got to the cafeteria and see Finn and Octavia sitting at our usual table. I walk over and Finn stands immediately when he sees that I have been crying.

"Aurora? What happened?"

I just took a deep breath and thought telling both of them would be for the best.

"Finn, Octavia. You have to listen to me, okay?"

"What's going on?" Octavia asks. You could hear worry in her voice.

"At 3:00 the guards will come to take us. Whatever you do don't fight them okay."

Finn seemed to become a little angry but I wasn't sure. "What are you talking about Aurora?"

"They are going to put us on a drop ship... they're sending us to earth." I try not to show how terrified I really was. "You have to trust me, okay. Don't fight back and just let them take you to the ship. We will be okay. I promise."

Finn nodded while I tried to comfort Octavia.

It was almost time.

I shared a cell with Octavia and waited. A good 20 minutes later we hear kids yelling and screaming. That when two guards show up.

"Prisoners, against the wall now!" one of them shouted

We did as they said. I looked at Octavia and saw the fear in her eyes. I squeezed her hand and told her that she would be okay.
