They sat in the dark, moonlit room. The three girls who were Children of Air, Fire and Water. The game was being held by the Child of Water who was known for her devious games. They were immortal creatures, ones with immense beauty and power. Loved by many but hated equally so.
"Butler I would love for some tea. This game makes me tired so." The Child of Water said twirling a loose strand of her golden hair. The rest was braided into a crown with flowers entwined into it. The butler nodding and bowed to the element before disappearing into the darkness.
She looked to her guests and flung her legs over the armrest of her cushioned chair and crossed them, leaning against the other armrest.
She had made herself comfortable in her game room, unlike her guests who remained quiet and still. She looked at them and pouted,
"Are you bored my cousins? Or is it that you are disinterested in my game? I called you here promising safety, why not use it accordingly." She said smiling a sickly sweet smile.
"Do not act like a fool cousin." The Child of Fire spat to her family. She did not seem amused in the slightest, but that was to be expected, for she was the harshest of the four. Her long black hair fell freely around her almost bare shoulders which were only covered by thin straps by a deep red top.
"Where is the Child of Earth, Water?" The almost timid Child of Air asked. Her long eyelashes batted in confusion as she looked around the still room. Her white hair tied in two ponytails which rested on either shoulder.
The Child of Water spun her head around to the Child of Air. A furious glare flared up on her flawless face.
"She is not of importance." The Child of Water began before pausing to pick up a chess piece. The pawn. "She resolves around her precious humans. It's sickening to even think. We as elements should not even be near them, yet she helps them. Feeding them and forgiving them of their foolish ways. They are nothing but a waste. I'm glad they aren't immortal." She said before tossing the pawn into the air catching it with ease.
"Ah, but they are of use. Even if not immortal." The element of Fire pipped up, interested in the sudden change of conversation.
"I guess so dearest cousin... Hmmm, it's such a pity. These humans are nothing but a bother. It'd be better to kill them all but what's the fun in that~ I suppose, though, the war has only just begun. For all things immortal, no matter the race, have begun their inescapable doom. Trust no man, woman or child for the unseeing eye is at it's best. But better yet a blind eye who takes a blind step into the unknown. That is your better yet but the question is what is your better step~
Tread carefully for no one shall turn a blind eye. Instead, the game is rather set. And the sword is unsheathed. A game till the bittersweet end.
Play the game, play it right, but never take a step to far. For the game is no longer fair,
Only the blind take a blind step, and turn a blind eye, blissfully unaware of their blind undoing." The Child of Water rambled, inspecting the chess piece in her dainty hand."You really are pleased with your new game aren't you." The Child of Air said as a sigh left her pale pink lips.
"Quiet, And ever unfolds the flowing game, glowing as the night increases. Turning a mortal's pure assurance of safety into a bloodbath for a set of kings and queens. The chess set is set and the move is yours. Keep on playing until the besetting words "checkmate" flow freely from the winner's mouth. But who will win when the game is already over~" She continued and turned in her seat. Slipping her legs off of the armrest just as the butler arrived with a tray of tea. He set the tea up and handed each girl their respected cup. Water nodded as thanks and the butler took it as his allowance to leave, to which he gleefully took.
