2.Being a Maid

I stared at the mansion...No I should say a Palace in front of me. God, the place is so big, I can't believe it and my mouth falls open. 

I stood there like a psychopath until I noticed an old man with black hair and eyes,who looked like he was in his early forties, noticed my spacing and I snapped out of my trance feeling embarrassed. He was in  a Guard uniform so I assumed his the Gatekeeper, knowing this I started to walk towards the Him.

I smiled before i greeted him. "Good day sir , I'm Athena Smith, I applied for a job as a Maid here and I received a call saying I got the job if I'm right."I ask awkwardly. After I called the number and explain the reason why I should get the job,two hours later they called me back saying i could start on monday and here I am now.

The guard smiled back at me.''Good Day, Miss Smith and Yes, I know you, you may come in and help yourself at home, just go straight to the house and you will meet Daniela". He opened the Gate and pointed at the house then gave me a friendly smile after I muttered thank you and walked past him to get in the house.

If the outside was great then the inside was paradise. 

Once you enter you'll meet a fountain with a mermaid statue right in the middle of the entrance and beside it are neatly trimmed bushes with a lot of flowers growing making them look like a beautiful garden, then you'll get to the entrance of the house where the door is colored Gold while the rest of the house is colored white,....... words can't describe how beautiful this mansion is but I stop admiring the place and remember why i'm here.

I pressed the intercom in the door and a few seconds later someone answered it.

"Welcome to the Kings Estate May I know who this is?". An elderly voice said on the other line

"Good day Madam, This is Athena Smith, the new maid??." My answer turns out to be a question to clarify things.

"Ah yes, we've been waiting for you dear,... wait for a moment, i'll be coming at the door". She replied and minutes later I heard a footstep and a loud creaking of the door when it opened. There stood a woman with black hair and a pair of black eyes. White hairs are also noticeable on her hair making her look like she is in her late forties. I smiled at her to show some respect.

"Welcome dear, you may come in now and let me show you around the house". A smile appeared on her delicate face and I just nodded then followed her walking inside the house.

I walked in awe as I admired the view in front of me. Everything screamed power and money. The guy who owns this must be very rich, I think. 

I notice a gold chandelier hanging in the ceiling while walking. The long stairs were also colored Gold making the whole place extravagant. I stop gawking when I notice I was too far behind from the lady walking in front of me and I fasten my pace.

"I wanna show you around the house but you must be tired from the long trip so I'll let you get a rest for today and you can start working tomorrow.... BTW I'm Daniela." She said as we took the long stairs towards the second floor and I just nodded in response since she already knew my name. 

We walk past three doors and we stop at the fourth door. She opened the door revealing a large room with a queen size bed with walls decorated all in white. There is also another door which I assumed to be the bathroom and I notice a closet, a walk-in closet perhaps, this room is heaven I think.

"From now on, this is your room". My mouth fell open as she said those words to me. A maid can have this beautiful room??. I said in my mind like I couldn't believe what I just heard.
