Escaping Lucifer's Bed

Chapter 27.

Athena's POV:

“I want someone who will look at me the same way I look at chocolate cake.” – ... 🥲

I’ve been standing in front of his door for hours now. After Lucifer cried on my shoulder the other day, he stood up and walked out not saying anything, neither anyone present there. 

Everyone kept quiet while I was completely still. It took me everything not to confess to him that I also love him when he said those three words. I deeply regretted how I kept everything from him. This is also his child. He has the right to know about it, I was just overpowered by fear that time. Now, I want to fix everything.

I haven’t seen him for three days straight, he hasn't left his room since then. The food the other maids brought to him ended up rotten, no one has ever entered his room. It’s killing me just thinking about his health. 

“Are you gonna knock or what?”. Daniela spoke behind me. I got awkward, she got really mad at me that time. She loves Lucifer as his real son and I hurt him. I understand why she’s mad at me.

“Don’t just stand there and do nothing, you hurt him so much Athena. This is the second time this happened to him. I don’t want to see him suffer like five years ago just because of a girl. I don’t want him to kill himself again, that’s why do something and fix what you’ve done, Athena”. I was startled by her words but I completely feel her. She cares so much for him and it’s my fault why he’s acting like that. The love of a mother truly is amazing. 

I bow my head at her. “Auntie, I'm really sorry for what I did, I’m so sorry for hurting him. I was just scared and didn't know what to do, please give me another chance to be by his side, just even for a short time”. I pleaded while bowing my head. I heard her footsteps approaching.

“Raise your head Athena, if there’s someone you should apologize to it is him not me. I understand your reason but still…. It’s his child and it’s unfair to him if you keep it a secret from him…..” I lift my head and look at her. “..... Athena, this is the second time I saw him cry, he cried because he cares so much about you… I don’t know who you are to him and what’s his relationship with you but one thing is certain. He loves you and that's what matters the most”. She hugged me all of the sudden.

“Please, just love him like he loves you. Athena, I'm begging you , I don’t want to see him suffer again. Just please love Lucifer”. I was shocked when tears fell on my shoulder. Daniela was crying, it shows she really loves him. It broke my heart seeing her cry for something I did. 

She broke away from the hug , wiping her tears and looking me straight in the eye. “Take care of my son, Athena”. Was all she said and left me there standing.

“Here you need this, make sure he eats”. Sam smiled at me at the staircase holding a tray full of food. She walked towards me and handed me the tray which I took and smiled back at her.

“Listen Athena, In my time serving him, I’ve seen so much but I never saw him smile and laugh just like when you were here…….For me, I think you’re everything for him, that’s why he showed his weakness even if it means he’s weak……Athena, chin up and face him, I’m rooting for you”. She tapped my shoulder and smiled. “You know what they say, A broken heart is a heart that is loved, so go and fix that broken heart”. She said before turning me around facing the door and whispered “ Good luck”. Before disappearing.

I gulped and closed my eyes before knocking on the door. There was no answer, I knocked again, but there was still no response. My hold on the tray tightened as I spoke.

“Lucifer…” I called but there was no response.”.....uhmmmm, You haven’t eaten for days, I….. I brought you food here, can you open the door?.... please??”. I said with all my courage. Nothing happened. It was all quiet.
