The air was still crisp from the night's chill as I waited at the den's entrance for Phoenix's return. My daughter had been gone for hours, and my heart couldn't help but worry. The night had brought unexpected changes to our pack, and I needed to hear Phoenix's perspective on all that had transpired.

As Phoenix emerged from the shadows, her presence was like a breath of fresh air in the early morning light. Her auburn hair glowed like a golden fire, and her eyes held a mix of emotions that mirrored the turmoil of the night. We exchanged a knowing look, a silent conversation that spoke volumes of our shared concerns.

"Phoenix," I began gently, "where have you been all night? I was worried sick."

She sighed, her shoulders sagging with exhaustion. "I needed some time alone, Mother. To clear my head and figure things out."

I nodded, understanding her need for solitude. "It's been quite a night. Avalor's decision, Draegon's arrival... It's a lot to take in."

Phoenix's gaze darkened as she mentioned Draegon's name. "Yes, Mother, about Draegon..." She hesitated, her voice carrying a weight of uncertainty.

I placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. "You can talk to me, Phoenix. What's troubling you, my pup?"

She took a deep breath, her words cautious. "When I was with Draegon by the stream, there was a moment, Mother, a moment when I felt... different. It was as if there was a primal instinct inside me, urging me to obey him without question."

My heart sank as I absorbed her confession. This was no ordinary occurrence. It hinted at a connection deeper than mere attraction, a bond that reached into the very core of a blood wolf's nature.
