Now let the story begin.

Outside the entrance to the Fairy Tail Guild, a young man with [E/C] eyes and [H/C] hair takes in a deep breath and smiles.

It's been so long since I've been here last. I wonder what's changed over the years? After being gone for so long, it'll be great to see everyone again, especially...her.

He thinks to himself as he enters and is immediately greeted happily by Master Makarov.

Master Makarov : [Y/N]! Welcome back my boy, we all missed you greatly!

[Y/N] kneels down and hugs the elderly man.

[Y/N] : Thank you Master, it feels incredibly nostalgic to be back here. I hope the past ten years have treated you well.

Master Makarov : They have for the most part. I speak for the whole guild when I say that it's great to see you return after so long. Come, everyone is waiting for you in the guild hall.

[Y/N] nods and follows as Makarov tells him of everything that has happened in his absence.

Upon arriving at the guild hall, [Y/N] is met with the sight of all his friends and guildmates celebrating his return.

Natsu : [Y/N], welcome back man!

Gray : Yeah, ten years is way too long!

They both give him a bro hug.

Mirajane and Cana hug him as well, earning a slightly jealous glare from a particular red-haired mage.

Lucy : Umm..who is this guy?

She asks feeling really confused.

Mirajane : Oh right. Lucy, this is [Y/N] [L/N], one of the strongest members of the guild besides Erza.

Gray : [Y/N] took on a special mission that required him to be away from the guild for a decade.

Natsu : We always keep in contact with him, but it's just not the same as having him here with us.

Lucy : I see. Well, it's nice to meet you [Y/N].

[Y/N] : Thank you, it's a pleasure to meet you too Lucy.

The room suddenly goes completely quiet as everyone besides [Y/N] look on in slight fear as Erza slowly approaches him with an emotionless expression.

Erza : .....[Y/N].

The [H/C]-haired male looks at her nervously.

Oh no, she doesn't look happy. Is she mad at me? I hope not. Out of everyone, she's the person I missed the most.

[Y/N] : Y-yes Erza?

As she approaches him, he prepares for the worst, but is surprised when she pulls him into a bone-crushing hug.

Erza : I missed you so much!

Happy tears form in her eyes as the entire guild besides Mirajane and Cana look at the scene in awe.

Snapping out of his initial shock, [Y/N] smiles and hugs her back.

[Y/N] : I missed you too Erza.

Hearing this, Cana and Mirajane exchange knowing looks and whisper to each other.

Mirajane : They definitely have feelings for each other.

Cana : Yep. It's plain to see. Though I'm a little disappointed, because that means I don't get a chance to ask [Y/N] out.

Her friend just shakes her head before the both of them turn their attention back to [Y/N] and Erza.

As Erza continues to hug him, [Y/N]'s [E/C] eyes begin to comically bulge out due to her overwhelming strength.

It's getting hard to breathe! She's squeezing the life out of me like a python! I don't remember her being this strong ten years ago!

Noticing their friend's predicament, Natsu and Gray speak up.

Natsu : Jeez Erza, are you trying to kill him?

Gray : You might wanna let go before you make him pop like a balloon .

Erza quickly lets go of [Y/N] as he gasps dramatically for air.

She begins to frantically apologize, but [Y/N] tells her that it's ok.

After a moment of awkward silence, Erza decides to finally reveal her feelings for [Y/N].

I've kept these feelings hidden for too long. I wanted to confess to [Y/N] ten years ago and I ended up blowing it. Now that he's back, I refuse to make the same mistake again.

Erza : [Y/N], there's something you need to know.

[Y/N] : What is it Erza?

Erza : Before you left ten years ago, I chickened out on telling you something important. I am going to amend that mistake right here and now. [Y/N], I've been in love with you for a long time, and I want you to be my boyfriend.

Nearly the entire occupancy of the guild hall goes wide-eyed at Erza's confession, but no one is more surprised than [Y/N].

Erza loves me?! If I knew, I never would've taken that job!

[Y/N] : An entire decade I could've spent with the woman I love, completely down the drain...

W-woman he loves?

Those words repeat in a continuous loop inside Erza's mind as a blush forms on her face.

[Y/N] : I love you too Erza, and have since we were kids. Knowing now that you return my feelings, I feel like I wasted so much time I could have spent with you.

Erza : It's alright [Y/N]. It's never too late to make up for lost time.

They share a deep and passionate kiss, causing the guild hall to erupt into joyous cheers.

Master Makarov : Young love, such a beautiful sight to behold. [Y/N], after completing a decade long job, you are forbidden from taking any more for the foreseeable future.

[Y/N] : That's fine by me Master, I'd much rather spend time with my girlfriend anyways.

Erza smiles and wraps her arms around him, extremely happy that after a ten year wait, [Y/N] and her are finally together.
