Now let the story begin.

Erza was beyond outraged.

She had just found out that Mirajane has been cheating on her boyfriend [Y/N] [L/N] with Laxus.

How could she do that to [Y/N]?! I can't believe Mirajane would cheat on him considering how much we fought in the past over who gets to be with him!

During their teenage years, Mirajane and Erza both had a huge crush on [Y/N], leading to them constantly fighting over him.

Eventually, Erza decided to be the bigger person and allowed Mirajane to ask [Y/N] out, despite how much she loved him and the heartache she felt every time she saw them together.

I shouldn't have given [Y/N] up so easily back then. If I had fought harder for him, it could've been me who got to be with him, and his heart never would've been broken.

Erza's anger lessens as her thoughts shift to [Y/N].

Poor [Y/N], I can't begin to imagine what he's feeling right now. When they were together, I could tell that he really loved Mirajane.

She looks down for a moment and takes a deep breath before exhaling.

I'm going to check up on him. Right now I have to put my feelings for [Y/N] aside and be the friend he needs.

With a look of determination on her face, Erza begins making her way to [Y/N]'s home in Magnolia.

When she gets there, Erza knocks on the door and is met with a very different [Y/N] than she's used to.

He looks so broken. I can tell he's been crying by the tear stains under his eyes. Normally [Y/N] is so happy and always smiling, I hate seeing him like this.

The two exchange sad smiles and stare at each other for a moment before Erza pulls [Y/N] into a hug as he cries into her shoulder.

Erza : I know it hurts. Let it all out [Y/N].

She pats him on the back comfortingly before [Y/N] pulls away and looks at her.

[Y/N] : T-thank you Erza.

Erza : You're welcome [Y/N].

She flashes him a small warm smile as he wipes the tears from his eyes.

[Y/N] : Tell me, h-how did you find out?

Erza : Lucy and Natsu told me. I guess they were out on a date and happened to come across Mirajane making out with Laxus in town. I'm so sorry [Y/N].

[Y/N] : I-it's fine. Honestly, that's preferable to the way I found out.

Erza : How did you find out?

She asks him with a little reluctance.

[Y/N] : W-well, I decided to ask her if she wanted to go out later, so I went to visit her at Fairy Hills. When I got to her apartment, I heard m-moaning a-and....

He can't finish his sentence as the tears build up in his eyes again, but Erza put the pieces together and realized what he was saying.

I will never forgive Mirajane for this....

The s-class mage thinks to herself lividly before going to comfort [Y/N] again.

Erza : Everything's going to be ok [Y/N]. If she was willing to do something like that, then Mirajane honestly didn't deserve you.

[Y/N] : I l-loved her so much! Why would she do this Erza?!

He cries out as the red haired woman embraces him tightly.

Erza : I can't answer that question [Y/N]. All I know is that Mirajane just lost the best thing she's ever had, whether she's aware of it or not. I know it hurts now, but I promise to help you feel better [Y/N], no matter how long it takes.

[Y/N] hugs her tighter as she continues trying to comfort him.

Timeskip

A few months later, [Y/N] is back to his normal cheery self thanks to all his friends, but especially Erza.

Since they broke up, Mirajane has made no attempt to reconcile with [Y/N] or apologize to him for cheating, only giving him occasional sad glances when she's not with her new boyfriend Laxus.

Right now, Erza is being pressured by Lucy and Juvia to tell [Y/N] how she feels about him.

Lucy : Come on Erza, I think you've waited long enough.

Juvia : Yeah! [Y/N] is much happier now! Juvia thinks you should confess!

Erza : I...I don't know. What if he's not ready for a new relationship yet?

Lucy : He seems completely over Mirajane, so why not take your chance?

Juvia : Juvia sees the way he acts around you! There's a spark there! You helped him get over his heartbreak, you've earned this Erza!

Erza : .......ok, I'll do it.

Lucy : Good for you Erza!

Juvia : Juvia knows it will go well!

I hope you're right Juvia. I've had feelings for him for so long that I don't know what I'd do if he rejected them.

Walking over to where [Y/N] is sitting, Erza quells her nervousness and smiles at him, which he returns.

[Y/N] : Hey Erza!

Erza : Hello [Y/N], c-can I ask you something?

[Y/N] : Are you finally gonna confess to me?

Erza : Yes I.....wait, what?

He knows I have feelings for him?!

[Y/N] : Lucy told me about a week ago how you felt about me. Don't worry, I love you too Erza. You helped me get over Mirajane, and I couldn't help but fall in love with you as a result. So, will you be my girlfriend Erza?

Erza : Yes, I will! I love you [Y/N]!

Unable to contain her happiness, Erza pulls [Y/N] into a deep kiss, causing everyone in the guild hall to cheer for the new couple....except for a saddened Mirajane.
