"And the danger is that in this move toward new horizons and far directions, that I may lose what I have now, and not find anything except loneliness."
― Sylvia Plath, The Unabridged Journals of Sylvia Plath
As I am walking along the sidewalk, I realize how weird it feels to be walking alone. Shawn hasn't really left my side these past couple of days, and now, as I'm walking alone at 3am, I realize how odd it is. I'm only 5'1" and although I can kick pretty much anybody's ass, it doesn't look like it. There's a pocket-knife in my pocket and my boot. Nobody fucks with me. But I live in a richer neighborhood so I don't really have anything to worry about. Once I come across another stop sign, which marks the third block I've walk from my house, I realize I have no idea where I'm going.
My first instinct is to walk back home. My second instinct is to walk to Shawn's, who just so happens to live on this street. Since it is about to rain, I decide Shawn's house is the better option. I begin walking towards his house, and I'm thankful the lights are on because it means he's already awake. I walk to the lit window and knock softly. At first I hear rustling, then the blinds are opening and to my surprise, Aliyah (I assume) is standing on the the other side of the clear glass. In an attempt to keep from freaking her out, I smile softly and wave. Aliyah then skeptically opens the window for me to climb through and I thank her.
"Who are you and why did you just come through my window?"
"Um, I'm Mia. I'm Shawn's uh, we know each other. I thought this would be Shawn's window. Can I see him?"
"Mia? Why haven't I heard about you before?"
"Oh! Sometimes, most times, Shawn calls me Michelle. Did he mention a Michelle?"
"Yeah. You must be the Michelle from all my bed-time stories. Shawn hasn't shut up about you for days."
Yayyyyy, I'm back! Go me! If I have enough inspiration, I might do a double update. What do you think of Aliyah so far? Is she too sassy?
All the love -K. Xx
