In the grand chronicles of Teyvat, it is recorded that Celestia had dominion over the entire land long before the archons came into existence. During this era, the desolate world remained devoid of any living inhabitants.

Monsters are yet to manifest, critters are yet to wander the land, and humans are still undergoing their evolutionary journey to reach their present state.

As time moved ahead, an extraordinary transformation took place in the once desolate expanse. The barren land gradually flourished into a thriving ecosystem, teeming with life. From the seemingly sterile soils, lush plants emerged, instilled with vitality by the benevolent divine forces. Simultaneously, an array of creatures sprang into existence, a testament to the bestowed power of these celestial beings. Notably, the evolution of unintelligent lifeforms led to the emergence of humans, marking a remarkable advancement in sentient beings.

Everything was going miraculously well for the new inhabited world, until Celestia, from above the surface, their floating island ever so stagnant in the sky, reminding all the living beings of who was superior, had grown curious if they could be able to make humanoid like lifeforms that are able to wield the same might as they do.

In the first hundred years, they were able to create one entity, its body in the form of a child. It was not a puppet nor an artificial being, but a real human like creation. Bestowing upon it the property to be able to understand human emotions. The second life they had created came after humans had made a civilization of their own. Another androgynous being that can feel human emotions, note their difference.

After duly exhausting themselves from instructing the children about the fundamental principles and essential knowledge of this world, Celestia made the decision to enter a state of restful slumber. It was then entrusted upon the children to bear the responsibility of overseeing Teyvat's affairs and promptly reporting any irregularities that might arise.

"Y/N...notice how those critters are shamelessly mimicking humans?" remarked the sharp-eyed youngster as both of you perched high above. Intrigued, you followed their gaze and couldn't help but scrunch your face in disapproval. Should they tell the slumbering entities about this?

"They are all moving so fast. Aging so fast, and rising so fast." You quietly exclaimed, firmly grasping the pristine garments worn by the young individual next to you.

"They are mortals after all, time flies faster in their realm." Muttered the entity, gently patting your head while observing the birth of Khaenri'ah-the very first nation to materialize, governed and constructed solely by mankind, devoid of any divine or otherworldly intervention.

How long has it been? A hundred years? Thousands? Y/N doesn't know, but the once empty land of Teyvat had now formed 8 nations. The other 7 had a more powerful entity rule their land, but the first nation remained independent of such, they prospered without the help of Gods. Having earned the title as the pride of humanity.

The two reliable observers of Celestia observed how, over time, both humanity and themselves had developed and progressed. Although, it was primarily their physical beings that had undergone maturation.

"This mundane situation is equivalent to staring at drying paint while waiting for it to win a Nobel Prize for entertainment."

You glanced at your companion with a skeptical expression, arching an eyebrow. "It is our responsibility to diligently observe the humans, ensuring their well-being and security, even during periods of tranquility. We shall continue to monitor their growth until the divine forces awaken, so please desist from voicing complaints," you cautioned, provoking a disdainful sound from your side.

"Why don't we hand the reins to Asmoday? After all, isn't she the illustrious Guardian of the heavenly principle?" Blatantly waving their hand, they proposed, as if they were shooing away tiny insignificant bugs.

"There is a possibility that she is unable to perform that task for now. It is crucial to remember that she recently arrived here, implying that she may still harbor resentment towards Celestia. It would be advisable to grant her some time to overcome such emotions." You expressed a slight sigh and raised an eyebrow upon hearing an audible groan of frustration from the individual beside you, but no further grievances were voiced.

The tranquil moment came to an end when the distinct sound of approaching heels caught your attention and that of your compatriot. Simultaneously, both of you diverted your gaze towards the origin of the sound, only to find that your sibling, as you have come to define them through your interactions with humans, was the first to extend a warm greeting.

"Oh, hey there, Asmoday! What trouble dragged you away from your cozy chamber?" Your kin playfully initiated a conversation with the lady ahead of you, while you offered a friendly wave to acknowledge her presence. Asmoday, displaying courtesy, respectfully bowed to both of you and directed a slightly exasperated gaze towards your sibling.

"I have been assigned the responsibility to communicate the upcoming task to both of you," Asmoday conveyed reluctantly, indicating her possible unwillingness to adhere to Celestia's orders. Both guardians exchanged perplexed glances before refocusing their attention on the woman.

"Why on earth did they not grace us with a straightforward revelation?" inquired the raven perched beside you, leaving you no choice but to jump into the conversation. "And what task may it be, Asmoday?"

Asmoday took a deep breath, her gaze shifting between you and your sibling. "The task bestowed upon us by Celestia is of utmost importance," she began, her voice tinged with a hint of uncertainty. "We are to embark on a journey to uncover the truth behind the ancient relics that have surfaced in Teyvat."

You exchanged a knowing glance with your sibling, both of you intrigued by the prospect of unraveling the mysteries of the past. "Ancient relics?" you echoed, your curiosity piqued. "What do these relics signify, and why are they surfacing now?"

Asmoday's expression grew solemn as she explained, "These relics hold immense power and are said to be remnants of a forgotten era. They have the potential to shape the fate of Teyvat and its inhabitants. Celestia believes that understanding their origins and purpose is crucial for maintaining balance and safeguarding the land."

Your sibling leaned forward, their eyes gleaming with anticipation. "So, we are to venture forth and investigate these relics, uncovering their secrets and ensuring they do not fall into the wrong hands?"

Asmoday nodded, her gaze steady. "Indeed. Celestia has entrusted us with this mission, for they believe in our ability to navigate the challenges that lie ahead. It is our duty to protect Teyvat and its people, preserving the delicate equilibrium that has been established."

A sense of purpose swelled within you as you absorbed the weight of the task at hand. "We shall not falter," you declared, determination etched in your voice. "We shall safeguard the ancient relics and ensure a bright future for Teyvat."

Asmoday's lips curled into a faint smile, a glimmer of pride in her eyes. "I have faith in both of you. May your journey be filled with wisdom and courage."

With renewed resolve, you and your sibling prepared to embark on this extraordinary quest, ready to delve into the depths of Teyvat's history and confront the challenges that awaited. The grand chronicles of Teyvat would soon bear witness to yet another chapter, as the guardians of Celestia set out to fulfill their duty and shape the destiny of the land they held.

Celestia's decision to entrust two young children with their assigned tasks proved to be a great misunderstanding. While one child possessed the ability to comprehend emotions without experiencing them firsthand, the other child was burdened with a deep sense of compassion and empathy for others. These children were left to venture the vast and unforgiving world of Teyvat, facing its challenges and cruelties without any guidance or support. As by instruction of Celestia, Asmoday was not allowed to intervene.

(The chapters that recently came out haven't been proofread yet, if I have the time I'll edit them when I can.)
