" Get away from the stove," Taehyung gently guided Jin back, realizing that Jin's heavily pregnant that limited his movements.

However, for Taehyung's birthday, Jin had insisted on preparing seaweed food as a special treat.

It had been three weeks since Jin's birthday. During this time, their lives had settled into a smoother pattern.

Jin's father had been convicted and sentenced to fifty years in prison, primarily for his murder attempt, which garnered more significant attention than his other crimes.

With Jin's due date approaching in January's last week, they still had about a month left before the baby's arrival.

Taehyung dutifully woke Jin up every morning, prepared his meals, helped him with light exercises, and attended to all his needs.

Their daily routine consisted of spending quality time together, away from the prying eyes of cameras and other disruptions. Occasionally, Yoongi and Jimin checked in on them, concerned about their well-being.

In order to keep their friends more involved in this important phase of their lives, Taehyung had decided it was best to move back to Seoul, despite Jin's initial reluctance.

Jin whined, his pregnancy causing him discomfort but he refused to back down, " Let me do it, please. This is all I can do for you right now."

Taehyung regarded him politely, understanding Jin's urge to do something for his husband's birthday.

" Seokjin, how about you go inside, sit down, and fold your laundry? We have a flight to catch tomorrow, and we're still behind on packing."

Jin turned to glare at Taehyung, " Can you just let me do this for you? How about you go pack? "

Taehyung could see the determination in Jin's eyes, and he smiled softly, " It's not about that. I don't want you to get hurt or tired. It's fine if I don't have the seaweed soup."

These little arguments didn't occur daily, but they were a consistent part of their daily life. Both of them never took these disputes too seriously, except for those rare moments when Jin put Taehyung in a "timeout." This tactic, however, rarely worked in Jin's favor, as he needed to be close to taehyung 24/7.

Jin sighed, setting the ladle down and retreated to the bedroom, closing the door behind him.

Taehyung realized at that moment that he should have let Jin have his way. It wasn't the right time to look out for him. He decided to take over the cooking himself.

After pouring the soup into a bowl, Taehyung carried the tray into the room. There he found Jin diligently folding clothes.

" Have some soup," Taehyung offered.

Jin took the bowl, but he was quieter than usual as he sipped the soup without looking at Taehyung.

After a moment of silence, Taehyung couldn't help but tease, " Did you put yourself on a timeout? "

Jin continued to finish the bowl, not immediately responding.

" Thank you," he eventually said as he set the empty bowl back in the tray and returned to his tasks.

Taehyung couldn't help but notice Jin's distant demeanor. He scooted closer, their arms touching, " Are you angry at me?"

Jin glanced at Taehyung, his expression softening, " No, why would I be angry at you?"

" Then why aren't you looking at me, avoiding me as well?" Taehyung asked, wrapping his arm around Jin.

" It's nothing," Jin dismissed.

Taehyung leaned in closer, his voice gentle, " speak to me, Cub, "

Jin immediately melts in taehyung's embrace, " I really wanted to cook seaweed soup for you. That was the only thing I could do for you right now. You went all out for my birthday, and - " His gaze wandered to the finished bowls in the tray, " I didn't even do the bare minimum."

Taehyung cooed at Jin, " Love, it's not a competition. There's no point in keeping track this way. Being able to spend a day with you and do these chores together is my idea of fun."

Jin let out a sigh, " Not enough."

Taehyung could see a glimmer of hope in Jin's eyes as an idea formed, " Do you want us to go out after we're done packing?"

Jin's face lit up, and he immediately agreed, " please, let's do that. I'll speed up the packing, and we can cut the cake on the beach, "

Taehyung held Jin in his arms, pecking his lips gently, " Okay, I love you."

" I love you more," Jin replied as he returned to packing.

Taehyung couldn't help but smile, " He really thinks it's a competition," he thought to himself.

He settled on the floor and began organizing all the clothes into bags. After two hours of focused packing with no disruptions, they finished.

" Let's go!" Jin excitedly exclaimed, " I'll go get ready."

In a flash, Jin was on his feet, heading off to get ready. After a few minutes, he reappeared in the room. Jin sat on the bed, watching Taehyung choose his outfit.

" I need to take a bath. It'll take a few extra minutes, okay? I'll be back," Taehyung informed him.

Jin smiled at Taehyung, his nose scrunching cutely. He decided to catch some rest while he waited.

When Taehyung returned from his bath, ready to leave, he saw Jin fast asleep.

" Wake up," he gently shook Jin in an attempt to rouse him. But Jin was in a deep sleep, and Taehyung decided to take the risk and let the omega rest a little longer.

Taehyung decided to order a cake from a bakery to be delivered home. They'd cut it when Jin woke up.

The evening passed while Jin was still sleeping, and he finally woke up at night, his hair disheveled and tear-stained cheeks.

Taehyung had anticipated a bit of an outburst from Jin, but not to the extent he was seeing now, " Why didn't you wake me up?" Jin questioned thrashing around his arms,

" I did try, but you were in a deep sleep. I didn't have the heart to disturb you. You were tired," Taehyung explained, attempting to calm Jin. But Jin persisted, calling him an ass.

Taehyung straightened his back, " It's my birthday, Seokjin. It's okay, I insist."

" But I wanted to treat you," Jin nestled into Taehyung's chest.

" We can do that on New Year's Day, alright? The day after tomorrow when we reach Seoul, you can take me wherever you want to go. I ordered a cake for now let's cut it together for now."

Jin continued to berate himself, " I'm such a bad husband. I slept through your birthday."

Taehyung interrupted with a kiss.
" Honey, no. You're heavily pregnant, you can't expend all your energy this way. Pregnancy consumes a lot, and it's understandable."

" I'm crying and making the day worse. I know I'm the ba—" Taehyung silenced Jin with a kiss.

" You know what gift I'd really like?" Taehyung hinted, and Jin's eyes widened.

"You're a pervert," Jin burst into laughter. "No, I'm your husband. Come on, let's cut the cake and then, well, get down to business," Taehyung said while fixing Jin's hair, " Also, cub, you're anything but a bad partner. Don't ever say that, I love you so much."

" I love you too," Jin replied, leaning in to capture Taehyung's lips in a slow, affectionate kiss, " I love you too much."
