Jin's eyes fluttered open the next morning, and as he gradually regained his senses, the events of the previous night began to sink in.

He looked over his shoulder and saw Taehyung sleeping facing him. As the realization settled in, Jin attempted to get up, but he was hindered by Taehyung's weight pressing down on him.

Great, Taehyung was cuddling him. With the remaining of his energy, Jin managed to extricate himself from Taehyung's embrace, " What the heck did I do? " Jin internally screamed.

He fled to his room, his entire body aching, with a particularly painful headache. Jin felt completely overwhelmed. It had been his first time engaging with an alpha sexually, having sex, and it had to happen this way.

He should have taken heat suppressants, but his heat had arrived earlier than expected, and now he was certain he had triggered Taehyung's rut as well. He sighed. He had taken Taehyung down with him.

After taking a quick warm bath and changing into fresh clothes, Jin hurriedly left his room. He needed the entire day to himself to recover from events of last night.

" Where are you going? " Taehyung's voice sounded slurred,

" None of your business," Jin replied without making eye contact, " Aren't we going to talk about what happened last night? "

That's precisely why Jin was leaving the house.

" What about it? It was a mistake. Both of us weren't thinking straight because of heat and rut," Jin responded with a sour tone in his voice. The conversation was staging him in an uncomfortable position.

" Of course, you don't care. I shouldn't have allowed you to use me like that last night. Regardless of what your father does to you, you're just like him in the end," Jin's breath caught in his throat upon hearing taehyung say those words.

Hadn't Taehyung been the one who despised him? Now, if he was walking away from this, Taehyung should have appreciated it instead of making these hurtful comments. Jin detested being compared to or accused of imitating his father. He was doing Taehyung a favor and saving them both from potential hurt.

" Taehyung? What if I stay and we talk? What will come out of that? Will you accept me and take responsibility? Won't your hatred for me get in the way? I'm just saving myself and you from any possible pain. Let's forget that last night ever happened. You can continue hating me, and I can continue... being like my dad. "

Taehyung wanted to snap at that moment. He felt used by the Omega. How could someone so callously disregard another person's feelings?

Perhaps having sex wasn't as significant to him, but it was clearly different for Taehyung,

" It's better this way. Both of us will be on our own in a few months, anyway, " Jin left the house without saying another word after that,

Later that day, Taehyung also left the apartment. He went to visit Jimin at his place, and his best friend quickly picked up on the Alpha's troubled expression.

" What's wrong with you today? You're so quiet," Jimin asked, lying flat on Yoongi's chest.

" If I told you, you'd never take my side anyway," Taehyung replied,

" Taehyung, you do realize it's never about taking your side; it's about taking the right side. I care about you, and I'd never hesitate to call you out if you did something wrong, i am your bestfriend, i'll never intentionally disregard your feelings, they are valid, now c'mon tell me what's up? " Jimin assured him,
" also without omitting any details, " he adds

Taehyung explained the entire situation, leaving nothing out. He felt relieved to share it with Jimin but also ashamed of his own actions. He shouldn't have said such hurtful words to Jin. He also never really apologized formally for his behavior towards Jin in the beginning.

" Taehyung, do you perhaps have any feelings for Jin? " Jimin inquired after taehyung was done explaining.

" No, definitely not, " Taehyung responded immediately, trying to dismiss any doubts about his feelings.

" Are you aware that Jin was a virgin? " Jimin dropped this bombshell,

Taehyung stood up in shock, gasping audibly, " I would have never guessed that if you hadn't told me. But it doesn't really matter to him."

" Poor him. It must have been overwhelming for him. You see, he had sex for the first time, and it had to be like this, with someone he never wanted to be with. It was probably the mating marks. That put both of you in that situation. But nothing can be done now. Let him be if that's what he wants. You can't make him feel the same way you do."

" I don't harbor any romantic feelings for him, " he deadpans, " I am just trying to help him open up, trying to fix things. "

Jimin continued, " Maybe he's closed off to you because it is you. You were shitty to him. He's a tough nut to crack, but I'll talk to him. Perhaps we can help him open up."

" Go ahead, but don't come crying to me later," Taehyung chuckled. " He may not be who I initially thought he was, but he's not exactly kind either, especially to those who try to break through his walls. You should have heard him this morning, Jimin, he was very cold."

" You deserved that. What you said to him was hideous. but I'll still try to break the ice a little," Jimin smiles, hopeful that Taehyung's assessment of the situation isn't entirely accurate.

"Go ahead, but don't come to me crying later," Taehyung retorts.

Both of them are jolted from their thoughts when they hear Yoongi snoring loudly, " Ahh, can you believe this guy? " Jimin laughs, and Taehyung joins in.
