Dean drove the car out of town, they got some food and drinks for the ride. Abby was disappointed that they couldn't go to the haunted house, but she knew that there was no changing Dean's mind. Abby was reading a book that Sam gave her. It was about vampires and werewolves.
Sam was asleep, Dean and Abby were the only ones awake. Abby was quiet, she was very focused on the book. Dean wanted to start a conversation, but he didn't know what to say. He rested his right hand on her thigh, the Abby put her left on top of his to hold it as she read the book. After a few minutes, Abby got bored and put the book in the glove box.
"So, where are we going?" Abby asked "I don't know, no updates from Bobby yet" Dean said "Cool" "I guess we could go back if you want" "That'll be fine" Abby said. Dean turned the car around and drove back. Abby closed her eyes and fell asleep. She woke up and they were at Bobby's again.
She rolled her eyes as Dean parked the car, "Why are we here?" She asked "Just wait here, Sam and I are gonna see if there's a case" Dean said with him and Sam getting out. She waited a bit, then Sam came back, "Dean says he wants you to stay for this case" He said opening her door "What?! Why?" She said a bit angry "Well, it's hard to explain, it's just dangerous, we'll explain everything when we get back."
Sam said, with Abby getting out of the car. Sam shut the door behind her and walked her up to the door. He opened the door for her and they both walked in. Dean and Bobby were sitting at the table, "Hey babe" Dean said smiling, Abby did not smile, she rolled her eyes and walked up to the guest room. She shut the door behind her and sat on the floor, leaning her back on the edge of the bed.
It felt like Dean was trying to get rid of her. A tear rolled down her cheek, she whipped it away. She heard footsteps from the door. She stood up and it opened, it was Sam. "You okay?" He asked "Yeah, I'm okay, you guys get on with your case" "Yeah, I'm not gonna go" "What do you mean?" "Bobby's gonna go, they took his truck, so I thought I deserved a break" "That's understandable" "Are you sure that you're okay? Is it because of your parents?"
"Uh..." "Abby, you can talk to me" "Well... I just... it feels weird, my dad's dead, my mom's in jail for killing him, Dean isn't listening to me- "What do you mean he's not listening to you "Every time I try to talk to him, he either shuts me out or he turns it into a lecture, I'm just done with him" "What do you mean?" "I'm done with the lecture's, the arguments, just him. Sam, could you drive me home?" "I thought you weren't allowed to go back" "My parent's house is still good" "Okay, what do I tell Dean then?" "I don't care what you tell him, make up an excuse, I don't care, just take me home!"
Sam dropped her off at her parents house, "Hey, call me if you need anything, okay?" Sam said "I will, don't worry" Abby said getting out of the car. She shut the door and Sam drove away. She walked into the house and set all of her stuff down, it get empty, but also nice. It was like a free vacation. She walked up to her old room, it still looked the same. She laid on her bed and shut her eyes. She fell asleep instantly.
Dean and Bobby came back. Dean walked into the house, "Hey Sammy, where's Abby?" He said setting flowers down on the table. Sam had a feeling of regret when he saw the flowers, "Are you not gonna say anything?" Dean said "Um, Dean, Abby is currently not hear right now" Sam said "Where is she?" Bobby said "She wanted to have some alone time, for a while" "Sam, where is Abby" Dean said a bit mad "She's not here! She just needs a break, she's been through a lot" "Like we haven't?" "Now I know why she left, Dean, this isn't about you! She wants to be alone, away from not only you, but also Bobby and I, she's done"
"C'mon, we've been through a lot more- "Stop comparing, it's not a competition! She wants to be alone, so leave her alone!" "What about the flowers that I bought her?" "Put them in water, if they last when she ready to come back, then give them to her, for now, don't even call her, she told me to tell you that"
Abby slept for a while, she slept for 13 hours. She woke up and checked her phone, 10 miss calls from Dean. She rolled her eyes and put her phone back on the nightstand. She got up and walked to the bathroom. She turned the water on and took her clothes off, then hopped in. She washed her hair and body, she really needed to.
She dried her hair, then wrapped herself in the towel. She walked back to her room and sat on her bed, then went on her phone. She texted Sam, telling him that she was okay, she just needs more time alone. She set her phone back down, as soon as she did, her phone started ringing. She looked at the caller, it was Dean. She sent him to voicemail.
"For fucksakes Abby" Dean said as he was sent to voicemail "Told you she didn't want to talk" Sam said while sitting on the couch "Mind your business Sammy" Dean said phoning her again. Sam's phone got a notification, Dean looked and saw that it was Abby. "Why is Abby texting you?" Dean asked as he sat next to him "Yes Dean, it's Abby, she needs more time alone" Sam said.
"I'm gonna go see her" Dean said getting up "Dean, leave her alone, if she's not talking to you, she obviously doesn't want to see you" "I don't care" Dean said as he slammed the door behind him. Sam didn't even try to stop him, he knew that Dean would come back with her.
Abby put on a black hoodie and grey sweatpants. She grabbed chips from the cabinet and walked to the couch. She turned the television on and watched whatever was playing. She rested her head back, then heard the doorbell ring. She got up and looked through the window of the door, it was Dean.
She rolled her eyes and went back to the couch. As soon as she sat down, she heard Dean practically punching the door. She got up and opened the door slightly "You done?" She asked "C'mon Abby, we're going back to Bobby's" "Over my dead body, I need a break" she said shutting the door "Just tell me what's wrong, and don't say that I lecture you" "Well, you do!" "Just let me in and we can talk about this, instead of being childish"
Abby opened the door and let him in. He shut the door behind him, Abby walked to the fridge and grabbed him a beer. She sat by the table, "You wanna talk about it? Then let's talk about it" she said opening the beer and setting it beside her. Dean sat beside her and took a drink, "So, I shut you out?" Dean said "Yeah, it's super obvious that you do, not letting me go on cases when I'm most likely stronger then you and Sammy combined"
"Okay, you're right, I do shut you out, I'm just scared that you'll end up either like Jessica or my mom" "Dean, trust me, that would never happen, didn't you guys basically kill that demon" "Yeah, but still..." "Dean, I'm fine, I'll be fine, you just need to let me go sometimes" "You're right" "So, you gonna go back?" "Only if you come" "No, I'm not coming, I'm done, I'm too tired"
Dean left his beer on the table and walked to the door. "Remember to phone me if anything happens, okay?" Dean said before he walked out "I will, don't worry" "I love you" "I love you too" Abby said as Dean walked out. She heard the car's engine fade away as Dean drove. Abby could finally be free, she can finally have peace.
Dean drove back into Bobby's driveway, "Where is she?" Sam asked walking to Dean "She just wants to take a break" "I told you, now, Bobby needs help with some things"
