"it's a beautiful day." alexandra rolled her eyes when her mother said those words that seemed like kind of words that get the conversation started. but alexandra knew what was her mother trying to do - make her go outside.

"i know. yesterday was amazing too. but i'm not going anywhere."

"it's been almost a week since we came here and you haven't left the apartment."

"yeah, mom, cause i know zero people here. "

her mother sighed.

"i heard there's a surfing competition here tomorrow. do you want to check it out? Could be a great opportunity to meet some friends."

"mom, i told you, i'm not going anywhere."

four years passed since she last time stepped a foot on a surfboard. she missed it. missed the waves slapping her legs while riding a surfboard like her life depended on it. she missed the adrenaline in her veins and dopamine ih her system while winning every competition she's ever been to. there was absolutely no way alexandra was going to some competition, watching others bwsically living her dream. even if it meant to keeping her existence low - hiding in her room, watching whole lot of sitcoms and pretending she's not visiting the most beautiful surfing place she's ever been to.
