this chapter will
explain alexandra's fear of
letting baxter in. kind of

꧁꧂

the walk back to her apartment was making her think - maybe she was too harsh on baxter, maybe a simple "i like you but only as a friend" would have made it better. but she didn't prepare herself on this. she didn't think a short visit to shorehaven would have such an impact on her life. alexandra checked her phone, it was 10:54 and she had about dozen missed calls and messanges from her mother.
and then it hit her.

she forgot to take her medications.

even thought she knew nothing bad is going to happen if you forgot your meds or take them a few hours later, she was afraid after what happened last year at the hospital. not many people know what exactly happened, and alexandra refused to explain it to anyone, but she is sure she won't let that happen again. not after being so close to being better. not after finding joy here, in shorehaven.

"mom, i'm sorry, i forgot. i promise, i just forgot."
her mother was pale and her eyes were red, she was crying and it was, kind of, alexandra's fault.

"promise me you're not doing that again!"

"i promise, mom, i'm taking them regularly, i just forgot this time."

"alexandra, we're only few months away from getting a better life, you're not allowed to destroy that opportunity."

"he had his opportunity too. he lost it. because of me."
