alexandra would have lied if she said she didn't enjoy the party, even thought it ended up just sitting with a cotton candy haired boy in a bedroom, talking. just when things started to get good and baxter was telling her about his old surfing club, and how he ended up expelled from it - a brown haired girl that invited her to a party, summer, busted in.

"can't you two read? go explore yourself somewhere where isn't my mother's bedroom." alexandra and baxter shared a look and, after noticing summer's looking only at baxter, alexandra stood up.

"no worries, girl, he's all yours to explore." she said before leaving the room with a smirk on her face.

she won't lie, baxter is such a nice company and much different person when there's only two of them - he's much less cockier and he actually has a good sense of humor but can be serious when it's needed.

if things were different, alexandra would have had her tongue down his throat two days ago. but, at this situation, she couldn't let him under her skin - it would not end well for either of them.

she didn't even reach the front door when baxter showed up running behind her. he didn't even said a word, just followed her back to the party that was much different than what it was when she left. a slow song was playing and some people were slowdancing on the beats, except for marlon who stood by the grill, drinking something alexandra guessed was vodka.

"may i have this dance?" baxter had his hand in front of him, telling her that he'd like sharing this moment with her. but she couldn't. not right now. maybe not ever.

"i don't slow dance, pretty boy."

baxter looked at her, disappointed in her reaction, maybe afraid he's done something to make her think he's no good, or he's maybe rushing things.
"is it something i did?"

"i don't slowdance, or drink alcohol, or surf, or mess around with boys like you."

"boys like me?"

"boys who would make me fall for them."

"what's wrong with that?"

"you'll get hurt at the end of it."

alexandra turned her back on him and decided it was best for her to leave the party. she was searching for that marlon boy that helped her earlier, praying that he'll be sober enough to explain to her a way back home, but after not being able to find him she decided it's okay to go by herself.
