CHAPTER 9: Syrup Village, Part 3- Captain Kuro and Captain Shiro

Narrator POV

Flashback
(To about the same time when Luffy and Usopp were eavesdropping on Klahadore)

Shoya was flying in the sky freely. He closed his eyes and felt the cool breeze against his face. The he opened his eyes and looked down--towards the village. "Whoa, it sure's a beautiful village! And hey, that mansions stands out a lot. Guess I'll go see it in my next round."

Then he spotted something on the seashore, which was completely unexpected...

"A Marine Ship?! What the heck is it doing here? And wait, why's it coming in the direction of this village? Guess I'll have to wait around and check why exactly they're here..."

Shoya landed on the ground, and his behind a tree, neither too far nor too close to the marine ship.

"Hmm...bring the den-den mushi!"

PURURURU....PURURURU....KACHAK!

"Hello?" said a voice. Shoya looked doubtfully.

"Hello, Merry. It's me."

"Captain Shiro! Have you arrived in Syrup Village?"

"Yes, I have, Officer Merry. What is the condition?"

"The condition hasn't changed much from when we last connected, not yet, sir. However, Klaha- I mean, Kuro, has headed out of the house. He should have either reached the shore by now or must be about to reach."

"Hmm...very well...I shall keep a watch. Keep up the work, Merry. I will surely recommend your promotion after we catch Kuro today. He's been on the loose for too long now."

"Thankyou, Captain. I'm honoured."

KACHAK!

Shoya POV

Captain Kuro? Who's that? Given he's a marine, Kuro must be a pirate....but what is a pirate doing here? And not only that, there's even a marine spy here! And now a Marine Captain has landed...they arent't after Luffy-niisan are they?

SNAP!

I stepped on a slightly big branch of a tree lying on the ground, and it broke. The Captain, probably named Shiro, turned towards me. Judging by his speed, he knew it wasn't some stray animal, but a person.

I took flight but surprisingly and unfortunately, the Marine Captain also followed me, flying.

"Ugh" I said

"Who are you, kid?"

"I'm just a random kid! Stop following me! And how can you fly?"

"A random kid first of all wouldn't run after seeing a marine officer, secondly, I don't have these wings just for show, and thirdly, YOU ARE FLYING TOO!!"

I flied low, and landed on the ground, halfway to the place where my boat was. I said, "No point in running I guess. I mean, you'd just follow me around." Plus I thought I shouldn't let him see our boats, either. That'd make it easier for them to track us later.

"Hmph. A good logic, but a bad choice, kid. Who are you? And what devil fruit do you possess?"

I said bluntly, "I'm a pirate. And I have the Gravi-Gravi fruit. I can control gravity."

"I see. That is quite a handy fruit. But you? A pirate? This world is really going nuts, it seems. Little kids thinking they're a big deal, and acting like pirates."

"You know, I became a pirate because of you world government adults."

"What are you talking about?"

"The Hex. I had heard about it, and have been wanting to research and know more about it. And don't say that doesn't exist. I can't prove it, but I KNOW it exists. I have full faith, though even I don't know why."

"I don't know about some Hex or anything. There exists nothing like that."

"Yeah, never mind. You obviously aren't gonna admit it exists, so there's no point in arguing. Well, I guess since you are just a Captain in marines, so you are not given any info about it. Well then, you wanna fight? Come at me, I'm ready."

"HAHAHA. You? Fight me? You are quite delusional, I see. I should tell you, kid, that you are no match for me. It won't even be a fight. Just a lesson for a kid to never mess with the world of pirates and marines."

"I'm gonna change that mindset of yours soon, believe me, Mr. Marine Captain."

"Oh? Try it!"

The Marine Captain came flying towards me, and slashed his sword at me. I simply defended myself with my 'Gravity: Repel' power. He raised an eyebrow, then started attacking me multiple times in a row. I defended against more of them and when I just found them annoying, I decided to go up, fly around him and hit him.

I shouted, "Gravity: Heavy Fist!" my first connected to his sword, and it broke. "I see, you made your first heavier, huh. A good application, I must say." The Marine Captain said.

"Well then, I guess I will have to fight you hand to ha-"

"Gravity: Heavy Kick!" I landed a kick on his side. He tried to block with his arm but my kick being heavier, he couldn't. He flew off a little to the side, but rose on his feet again. "What fruit do you have? Seems like a bird type fruit to me"

He said, "A broken rib. Not bad, kid. And it's Bird-Bird fruit: Model Hawk." Then he flew towards me so fast I almost didn't see him, and slashed at my face with his talons before I could use my powers to defend myself.

"Heh...do not be overjoyed thinking that you beat me, kid. I haven't even gotten serious yet."

"So you think I have?"

"Quit it with the act, kid"

"Uhh... never mind, let's continue."

I flew towards him at a fast speed, hearing him shout "Air Blast!" I easily dodged that, and landed an axe-kick on him, yelling "Gravity: Heavy Kick!"

"He got pushed back a little but he didn't fall back, so I slightly increased the weight of my leg, but he just flapped his wings, and the air around him pushed me upwards. Then he came flying towards me and pierced me with his beak, but I managed to dodge the attack. Then I flew towards him, interlocked my hands, increased their weight around ten-folds, and then hit him with a loud BAM!

Mr. Marine Captain fell to the ground, his head bleeding. But he flapped his wings and soared, then came flying at me.

I suddenly had an idea. I tried controlling the gravity in my hand, and formed it into a ball the size of my palm. I called it... "Gravity Sphere!"

I shot the ball of gravity towards the Marine, who flinched but didn't stop, and the before I realised what he was doing, he flapped his wings with force and my Gravity ball came right back at me at high speed. I couldn't dodge it, and it hit me with a large force.

I flew backwards, along with the ball at my gut. The Marine Captain came flying towards me at full speed but then suddenly stopped. He looked up, pure anger on his face, and said, "There you are, Kuro. I've finally found you!"

I looked up, and saw a man in a black suit and huge claws standing in a fighting stance, and... "Luffy-niisan!" I said.

"Shoya!" replied Luffy-niisan.

"Hey...is..is that you, Shiro?" replied the man in the black suit, probably the 'Captain Kuro' from earlier.

"Huh? You guys look like you know each other."

"Hey, kid...get away from him. He's a pirate, and I'm gonna arrest him." the Marine Captain said.

"Well, I'm fighting him, you can arrest him after I beat him." Luffy-niisan replied

"NO. I WILL FIGHT HIM AND ARREST HIM. YOU STAY BACK!" the Marine ordered Luffy-niisan.

"WHY?! I'm a pirate, so I'm not gonna follow orders of a marine, dumbass!" Luffy-niisan replied, shocked, and I totally understood why he was.

"Because that guy is, unfortunately, my GOD DAMN BROTHER!!"
