One day until the wedding.
> LONG LIVE <
"He ripped your letter in front of my eyes." - Niall said first thing as he walked through the door of my penthouse. - "And the freaking wedding is still on." - He continued, frustrated as he collapsed on my couch. - "I can't believe it! How didn't this work?"
"Well. There goes my hope." - I sighed, collapsing on the couch next to him.
"No, hey." - He punched me softly. - "Now that you're actually on board with getting him back, we need to keep pushing. We need a new plan. We can't give up; we still have today." - He sounded a little hopeful. - "I'm sure we can do something with the twenty-eight hours we have until the wedding."
"Niall." - I chuckled. - "It's over. I'm done."
"No!" - He whined.
"Do you really think there's anything I can do today to stop the wedding?" - I arched an eyebrow.
"We could go to his place? You could kiss him again!"
"I don't think so."
"Oh, c'mon!" - He stood in front of me. - "Don't lose hope!"
"The wedding is tomorrow, Ni." - I snorted. - "I can't keep hoping he'll run back to me. I'll just have to live knowing he's the one that got away."
"You're still going then?"
"Of course I am. I already did my nails." - I said, trying to lighten the mood. - "And... you know, I feel like I need to see this marriage to believe it. And maybe it'll help me move on with my life."
Niall groaned, collapsing back again on the couch with me.
"Well, at least we'll be able to get drunk together and be the annoying drunk friends that ruined every photo." - Niall sighed. - "That's my only comfort."
I chuckled.
"We both and my mum probably too." - I laughed. - "She's really not happy about going, alcohol might be the only way to make her happy."
"I can see that. I actually don't think anyone is happy about going because nobody is happy for them."
"Niall." - I scolded him. - "You have to stop this. We should all be happy that, you know... two people are celebrating their..."
"You don't even know how to finish that sentence, mate." - He chuckled.
"They are committed to each other." - I said. - "They are celebrating that."
"If that's true, Louis shouldn't have kissed you."
"I kissed him."
"He followed." - He stated, arching an eyebrow.
"Well, yes." - I sighed. - "But... It's not like he ever told me he was going to dump Eric or anything. He told me a bunch of times we were better apart. So, I don't know why any of us got our hopes up."
Niall smiled sadly, placing a hand on my shoulder and squeezing.
"You're going to find someone and it's going to be ten thousand times better than Eric is for Louis. Because you don't deserve any more heartache, H."
I chuckled.
"And still, you and Liam are probably going to hate whoever that is."
"I don't think so." - Niall shook his head. - "We just want you and Louis to be happy. Together, or alone. But happy." - He smiled, then added in a joking tone. - "Because, honestly mate, you're miserable right now."
