Five months later, it is the anniversary of Toril and Mikael's marriage to one another. They wanted the day and evening to themselves, so they dropped their children off at the Salvatore's.

Not wanting Mikael to murder Xavier for embarrassing them, Toril drags her husband away after they say their goodbyes to their children.

Mikael takes his wife to a house, where a Villager hands Mikael a picnic basket.

" Oh. You had someone prepare us breakfast?" Toril asked, looking amused.

" Not only breakfast. Lunch and dinner as well," Mikael responded.

Toril smiled, happy that Mikael took the time to have someone prepare them something for their anniversary.

" Shall we?" Mikael held his arm out to his wife.

" We shall," Toril wraps her arm around her husband's, walking away from the Village to a meadow in the forest.

Toril looked surprised to see a tent prepared for them with a picnic blanket and fireplace nearby. She looks at her husband and smiles at him.

" How long did it take for you to have this ready?" She asked.

Mikael looks at his wife.

" While you were busy hosting meetings with neighboring tribes. I had some of my men prepare this for us since I knew our anniversary was near," He confessed.

Toril's gaze softened, touched that her husband remembered the day they became husband and wife.

Mikael lets go of his wife and double-checks that everything is there for them.

Toril looked at her surroundings and smiled, seeing birds fly above them. Being the Head Chief of Mystic Falls and a mother of three young children has taken a toll on her, but she loves doing what she does for her family and community. But, she appreciates having a loyal and supportive husband by her side to remind her to relax occasionally.

" And what is our day going to be like?" Toril asked, looking at her husband.

" Want to eat breakfast, or shall we start with dessert immediately?" Mikael bluntly asked.

Toril and Mikael stared intently at one another.

The couple smiled as Toril grabbed her husband's hand and laughed when Mikael pulled her close, picked her up, and carried her to their tent like the evening he had claimed her as his wife immediately on their wedding night.

A few hours later, Toril and Mikael slept in their tent after an intimate moment. Toril's head lay on her husband's chest, his heartbeat being a lullaby for her.

Birds chirping and animals crying awaken Mikael from his slumber. He looks at his wife and smiles when he sees how beautiful and peaceful she looks in her sleep.

Mikael gently sets his wife to the side to continue resting since he feels horrible for being too rough on her. He lovingly kissed her forehead, nose, and lips.

He grabs his clothes and walks out of the tent. He approaches a wooden bucket filled with water and has a sponge inside. He washes his sweaty body. Once cleaned, he puts on his clothes and sets up breakfast.

" Smells delicious," Toril's voice grabs her husband's attention.

Mikael turns and sees his wife walk out of the tent with her clothes in her grasp. He stares at her with immense love and adoration as he watches her clean her gorgeous body.

Even though in the beginning Toril was subconscious about her body image after giving birth to Elijah. Mikael reassures his wife that she is beautiful by lovingly kissing the scars on her stomach and waist.

" Your scars prove how strong you are when carrying our child for the full term," Mikael smiled.

Thanks to Mikael's caring words, Toril started loving and appreciating her physical appearance.

" Breakfast is ready," Mikael says.

Toril finished cleaning herself and changed into her clothing. She turned to her husband and smiled when she saw the spread of food on the furry blanket.

" Looks delicious," Toril walks towards the blanket and sits down.

Mikael sits beside his wife and starts to feed her.

Toril smiled, enjoying the taste of bread, strawberry jam, and goat cheese.

" I was wondering if you'd like to fight me like we used to do before going to war," Mikael looks at his wife. " I brought two wooden swords," He points to the nearby weapons.

" That sounds fun. Yes, let's fight after we finish eating," Toril nodded, sipping her herbal tea.

Several minutes later, Toril and Mikael finished eating their breakfast. They burned the trash in the campfire, grabbed the wooden swords, and walked to the side facing each other.

" Just because you are my husband. I am not going to be easy on you," Toril firmly says, going into a fighting stance.

Mikael amusingly stares at his wife, going into a fighting stance.

" I don't want you to be easy on me," He smirks.

Toril and Mikael charged at one another and started sword fighting. They looked like they were dancing. All that was missing was music playing in the background.

Toril ducks when she sees Mikael about to stab her chest; she twirls and kicks him, watching him fall. She stands and aims the sword at his chest.

" I won," Toril smirks.

Mikael chuckles, grabs his wife's hand, and stands up.

" That was fun," He looks at his wife.

" It was fun," Toril agreed.

Throughout the day, Toril and Mikael had fun in the tent, ate their meal, and hunted animals. Once nighttime came around, the couple laid on the furry blankets and watched the starry sky.

" Tell me. Are you afraid of the afterlife?" Toril asked, snuggling against her husband.

" No. If we perish, we will find a way to see one another again. Our ancestors call it Reincarnation. So, if we ever part, I will always find you because I will always and forever love you," Mikael smiled and kissed his wife on the forehead, nose, and lips.

Toril smiled, kissing her husband. She pulled away and lay beside him, admiring the night sky, happy their wedding anniversary went well.
