Chapter 2: onceler

Meeting y/n was something really nice. They were so kind and supportive. They seemed to really enjoy the thneed always finding new and interesting ways to use it.

I looked up at them as they ran around with the barbaloots. They did cool tricks to avoid touching them as they tried to catch her. It seemed like a new way to play tag.

I put my pencil down from my drawing and watched them closer. I watched them laugh as she was caught.

She fell down, over ran by barbaloots. I walked outside and stood over her. "Seems like you're having fun." I said smiling.

She stared up at me still trying to stop laughing. "Oh man you have to play the game with us! All you have to do is catch the other player. It's like reversed tag. Everyone else is going after one person and instead of a wide range it's in a small area. It's really fun!" She said really excited.

I laughed at her enthusiasm, shaking my head. "I think I'll pass. Plus it's more fun watching than actually playing."

She shrugged standing up with multiple barbaloots hanging off her. "Your loss." She slowly pulled each barbaloot off her and setting them down.

She stretched looking at the sky. She looked at me with soft curiosity. She seemed really content here in the forest.

I smiled watching her. "Well I was going to head into town and try and sell my thneed. You ok staying here or do you wanna come with me?"

She stood there debating. " I think I'll stay here for today. I'm not ready to go into town yet." I didn't know what happened and I didn't really push it. I nodded and got ready to head off, waving to her as I headed into town.

She waved back enthusiastically holding pipsqueak. "GOOD LUCK!" She called out.

I smiled and continued on.
