i want to study you in the way our ancestors studied the stars
wayfinding via constellations from your heart
mapping out the freckles on your nose
every mark, every scar
learning the stories that make up who you are
every cell, every fibre
all the thoughts that have worn you tired
the tears that have made the creases near your eyes deepen
how many visitors have been sightseeing
through those glass-stained windows?
soul searching for a glimpse of the beauty that this vessel holds
and i'll be searching for the rest of my life
if it means you will always reside in my vision
how close can the corners of your smile get to the high points of your cheeks?
give me a reason
how i can be deserving of such a blessing
i'll be loving every perfection and every mess
beautifully chaotic in the most human way
you are the only world i want to live in
discovering every landmark, being my only mission
being able to tune into your frequency
vibrating on the same wavelength as me
is something i'd never be happier to do
to be honoring you
in your most natural light
i promise to love you like the green loves the rain
you are now my homeland and i'm here to stay
