I am Delphi Riddle, an enigma.

In the darkened kitchen, Harry leaned against the back door. The impression one that only Delphi Riddle leaves, branded into his heart. Earlier, he had thought the girl had the element of mystery- but how could he face her again?

His hands trembled at the thought. His son's screams resonated in his head and filled his memory.

"Two of you? Choices, choices. I think I'll kill the boy first."

"Avada Kedavra!"

In an instant, she fires the Killing Curse at Albus- but Harry intervenes, throwing him out of the way. The bolt smashes into the ground.

He fires a bolt back.

"You think you're stronger than me?"

"No. I'm not."

"But we are."

"I've never fought alone, you see. And I never will."

Why was this happening?

"I wanted to kill her." He said, in almost a whisper. Harry heard the words completely, despite how reluctantly his son had said the words.

He sobbed a little, choking over the words. "I wanted to kill her, dad."
"Oh, Albus." Harry closed his arms around his son, holding him tight and trying to silence his sobs. "It's okay."
"How is it okay?"

His breath caught in his throat at the thought.
His breath caught in his throat at the thought.

It had been days, months, and years. He had time to recover. Hell, the rest of his family had recovered, so why now was the Augurey the only thought on his mind?

He didn't want to, but Harry knew he needed Delphi like how Albus needed Scorpius. In a twisted way, it was funny, but true.

His hand closed over his mouth as a sharp and cold pain enwrapped around his mind. What if it happens again?

What if it is my fault?

They had been over about a million times, everytime ending with Albus apologising and Scorpius saying it was his fault if anything. He never did accept the apology though the thought was left stirring in his mind. It had to be his fault, didn't it? He lost count of how many times he awoke to Ginny calming him from another nightmare. It was always the same one, at least he left the one's from his childhood behind. But this one, more recently, it's been taking him down a dark path. A pit which he hopes the second army can take him out of.

Delphi did as Harry said and played a part in her father's plan. She had to be well...a trick. She had to deceive herself if she was going to be the dark lord's daughter. Her mind still hasn't quite processed the information, but she wishes to one day fully understand what the responsibility holds.

She tried not to raise suspicion as she waltzed into the kitchen after a morning of fear and dread. She clearly wasn't set out for this life, she just hoped it wouldn't be this easy to prove her mistakes.

It wasn't just because of the incident. It was for more than that. All of the pain she put up with from following what she promised herself she wouldn't do.

She stared back at herself in the mirror a little while until the cold and very real truth set back in. She had to pull through, she owed this to Harry. Owed this to many. And most importantly to herself.

"I am Delphi Riddle, an enigma." She told herself, aloud.
Adding "enigma" at the end is deemed appropriate. She didn't think the dark lord could be tricked, but if he could, she was the one to do so.
