A loud sigh escaped Yoongi’s lips once the petite singer was out of sight. He felt bad for being so awkward around him – maybe he shouldn’t have asked him for a drink in the first place. Although at least the money he had paid for the soju hadn’t gone to waste. The singer had definitely had a good amount – almost more than him.
He tapped his fingers on the hard wooden table, resting his hand on his cheek as he stared at everyone in the bar out of boredom. While he hadn’t talked much with the singer, it had been more interesting having him there, expecting a conversation at any moment, contrary to now where he was sitting alone, having nothing to expect.
He glanced at the soju bottle that was almost completely empty and reached over to empty the rest into his shot glass. He managed to fill half of the glass, and as he was about to chug it, he stopped himself before he could grab the glass.
He got his phone from his pocket and searched for Namjoon’s number – drinking alone was the loneliest feeling in the world, and maybe it would help by calling his best friend.
As Yoongi put the call on speaker, he listened to the piercing ringing in hopes that Namjoon would pick up. Fortunately, it didn’t take long before the man on the other end was heard fumbling with his phone.
“Hyung?” He heard Namjoon call out, slight confusion in his tone. ”Hey, Namjoon-ah! What are you up to?” Yoongi asked, cracking a small smile on his lips as Namjoon continued to fumble with his phone.
“Just watching Netflix... wait, are you out somewhere right now?” Namjoon asked, to which Yoongi assumed he must be able to hear the people chatting in the background.
“Yeah, I’m sitting at a bar.” Yoongi said, fiddling with the glass in his hand. “Hyung! Are you really drinking alone again?” A sudden sternness washed over Namjoon’s tone of voice.
“Well, kind off... initially I wasn't.” He said, shrugging to himself. He heard a light gasp coming from Namjoon before the younger replied, “You were out drinking with someone? What happened?” he sounded surprised, causing a light chuckle to escape Yoongi.
“I know it’s surprising coming from me, but I asked the singer I played out for a drink...” He explained, feeling slightly embarrassed. “What? Are you into him?” Yoongi furrowed his eyebrows, “No! I just wanted to be kind and offer him a drink since the bar was nearby!” he defended, their conversation falling silent for a moment, “So, you’re alone now?” Namjoon asked carefully. “Mhm,” Yoongi hummed, “He left only minutes ago... I think I made things too awkward...” he scratched the back of his head, feeling embarrassed as he thought back.
Namjoon stifled a laugh, “Hyung, you need to work on your social skills!” Yoongi let out a sigh, lifting the glass to his mouth before letting the remaining soju run down his esophagus.

It had been a whole week since Yoongi had last seen the petite singer, and he hadn’t been able to stop thinking about him. So naturally, when he was offered the chance to play at the same place again, he couldn’t reject the offer.
He hoped it would be the same, petite singer he would be playing for, but he didn’t know. The only information he had been given was that he would be playing Hallelujah, so Yoongi didn’t know who to expect on the stage.
Yoongi was sitting ready, fingers lingering over the piano as heavy footsteps, assumably from a woman’s stilettos, echoed throughout the venue. Already then, he knew it wouldn’t be the petite singer he ever so desperately wished to see again.
Onto the stage walked an older woman, probably in her 40’s, opposite to a young, beautiful man that Yoongi had hoped to see. While Yoongi was disappointed, he just shrugged. He reminded himself it shouldn’t matter if he saw him again or not – they were merely strangers, and he didn’t even know him. He was just a random singer, just like the woman on stage.
