Yoongi 18:26
Do you want to go to a BBQ with me?Jimin’s fingers lingered over his phone’s keyboard, trying to decide what to respond. Hesitantly, he typed.
Jimin 18:27
Yeah. Which one?Jimin let out a long sigh, asking himself whether it was a good idea to go along with it. He couldn’t go back now, though, so it didn’t help dwelling on his choice.
After planning when and where with Yoongi, Jimin pushed his body up from his bed, stretching his arms out. He hadn’t done much today. He’d gotten up earlier to have a drink and do light stretching, but aside from that, nothing.
Jimin walked over to his wardrobe and pulled out a purple turtleneck, a black, knitted sweater, and a pair of blue jeans, quickly getting changed. Jimin went to the bathroom to apply make-up, covering his dry and pallid skin. He sighed - he knew he looked horrible, with dark, puffy bags under his eyes. Jimin decided to comb his hair properly and made a nice middle part, so that it wouldn’t look messy and unkempt.
He got up to leave the house, dressed warmly in his jacket, and headed towards the barbecue bar he and Yoongi planned to meet at.
Jimin had an uneasy feeling in his stomach – he didn’t feel like eating at all. He was extremely hungry but eating in front of Yoongi was getting harder and harder. Especially after he saw him. What if Yoongi just thought he was gross? Or tried forcing him to eat? Surely Yoongi wouldn’t do that – he seemed to understand boundaries.
Once Jimin was standing in front of the place, the scent of grilled meat running up his nostrils, he made his way inside, trying to scan the place to see if he could find Yoongi, if he was even there already.
It didn’t take long before he spotted him, sitting far back near the corner of the restaurant, tapping his fingers on the table. How long had he waited, Jimin wondered?
He made his way over, greeting the handsome pianist. The pianist was dressed in a black T-shirt and a flannel – a bit fancier than what he was used to seeing him in. He gazed up at Jimin, smiling, “Hey, Jimin-ah!”
Jimin bowed before taking a seat across from him, shooting him a small smile. “You ready to eat?” Yoongi asked, a questioning look formed on his face. Jimin nodded, “Yeah, let’s make an order.” he told Yoongi.
Yoongi called a waiter over, and they ordered a serving of pork belly. “Wait, you like pork belly - right?” Yoongi asked, uncertain. Jimin nodded, “Yeah, I do.” he told him, giving him a reassuring smile. Yoongi looked relieved, sitting patiently and waited, making eye-contact with Jimin.
Jimin’s stomach growled and retracted at the sight of food, leaving a painful feeling in him. He sat there uncomfortably, squirming slightly in pain. He hadn’t eaten for a few days – not since that onigiri. It was taking a giant toll on him - he got drunk so easily last time with Yoongi and had passed out the day before.
He’d felt so tired the past days, despite sleeping a good amount. And it was so terribly hard to avoid the temptation of food – he had held back the urge to eat until now, not sure if he would be able to.
He should eat a little, he thought, just to recharge for a few days' time - as well as to not make Yoongi more skeptical.
“How are you?” Yoongi’s voice dragged him out of his thoughts, ”I’m good,” he responded, ”How about you, hyung?” Yoongi smiled, ” So am I.” Jimin just nodded in response, unable to focus due to the strong scent of meat.
When their food came along with drinks, Jimin’s stomach acted up even more. Yoongi, being the cook of the two, started barbecuing the pork, and placed the first piece on Jimin’s plate. Jimin picked up his chopsticks, bowing politely to Yoongi, and brought the meat to his mouth.
