As Yoongi finished drying off the last of the dishes, he almost flinched in shock at the loud ringtone erupting from his phone. He scrambled to find his phone that had been thrown onto the bed only minutes ago, and his heart started fluttering once he saw the call was from Jimin.
Quickly, he sat down and got comfortable, and accepted the call, hearing Jimin’s voice on the other end of the line, “Hyung,” the singer started. “Hey, Jimin-ah! What’s up?” Yoongi asked, trying to hide the franticness in his tone.
“Can we meet at the park today?” Yoongi inhaled sharply, nodding as if Jimin were there to see him, “Of course. For what occasion?” he asked, a slight blush tinting his cheeks pink. “I have something I want to ask you.”
“Okay! What time do you want to meet me there?” Yoongi asked. “If you’re not busy... in fifteen-twenty minutes?” Jimin spoke, sounding slightly uncertain. “Yeah, I can be there by then. I’ll see you, Jimin.” Yoongi let a small smile form on his face, “See you, hyung.” And with that, the call ended. He should probably get dressed, Yoongi told himself.
-
“Yoongi-hyung he heard in the distance behind him, turning around to meet Jimin, dressed in an unusual amount of clothes as he jogged up to him. “Hey,” Yoongi greeted shyly, “What did you want to ask me?”
Jimin looked up, “You sure seem like you’re in a rush,” he joked, “But I’ll get straight to it.” Yoongi hid his chin in the collar of his jacket, feeling slightly embarrassed. “How do you feel about the idea of performing with me again?” Yoongi came to an abrupt halt, eyes stretched wide as his gaze doused over the entirety of Jimin.
“I’d like that, a lot.” he admitted quietly. “I think we should schedule something at the same venue, then.” Jimin said. “The one where we first performed?” Jimin nodded, cold breath slipping past his lips.
“But, why though?” Yoongi was curious why Jimin wanted to perform with him. “Uh...” Jimin stammered, “I just...” he paused for a moment, “To be honest, it was... easier for me to sing when I performed with you.” Yoongi had never heard Jimin struggle so much to speak – he felt flustered.
“Oh...” Yoongi breathed. “I’m glad.” Jimin grinned lightly, “So, it’s a plan?” Yoongi nodded, “Definitely!” he exclaimed.
-
The moment Yoongi peered out from the door to the backstage room, the loud chatter coming from the crowd almost ruptured his ears. Yoongi exhaled sharply, feeling his heart beginning to beat rapidly. He was performing with Jimin again, and surprisingly, it wasn’t even his own idea. He still couldn’t fathom that Jimin wanted to perform with him of all people.
He spotted Jimin further down the venue, currently making his way toward him. Yoongi shot him with a small smile, about to call his name when someone suddenly stepped in front of him. It took him a moment to realize the person was familiar, letting out a small gasp.
“Jiho-noona!” He exclaimed. The hadn’t seen her for over ten years, yet she still looked the same – there was barely a wrinkle on her face. “It’s really you, Yoongi-ah!” her face was beaming with glee, “Ah, you’re grown into such a fine, young man!”
Yoongi looked down, smiling shyly at her words, “You haven’t aged a day.” He spoke in response, causing her to chuckle lightly. Suddenly, the atmosphere changed, “How have things been since Mirae...” her voice trailed off. Yoongi suddenly felt gloomy, almost failing to notice Jimin walking up to his side.
“It’s been fine.” he mumbled. Jiho frowned, a sympathetic look sweeping over her face, “That’s good to hear.” Their conversation fell silent for a moment, “By the way, what brings you here?” Yoongi looked up, facing the older lady as he forced a smile on his face, “I’m performing.”
