Chapter #6: Don’t Panic.
Lizzie’s POV
“You ready?” Sky asks as she hooks up the camper to her truck. “Yep ready.” I tell her we decided to make a little road trip out of us going to L.A for the holidays. We are on the highway on our way to L.A god I’ve missed home and I need Mom’s advice on something. “How did  you fit your bike in the bed of the truck?” I ask. “Because the camper is a two person camper and just hooks right to the back of the truck plus I’ve always wanted to ride my bike somewhere other than New York.” She says. “I can’t believe we have till New Years off.” I say. “Yeah me too. Thanks for inviting me to join you.” She says. “You are my girlfriend, why wouldn’t I?” I ask. “Fair. You know Mom would have loved you.” She says. “Oh god I didn’t think how hard this is for you. I’m so sorry.” I say mentally scolding myself. “Honey, they died in September of last year. This isn’t my first holiday season without them. Yes it’s hard it probably always will be but I’ve got you and that’s all I need.” She says kissing my hand not taking her eyes off the road.

Sky's POV
We get to a campsite for the night and I set everything up while Lizzie is in the truck on the phone with her Mom letting her know we got to the campsite safely. She's been off these past week. I'm getting worried. “Ok Baby everything’s ready.” I tell her and she jumps out of the truck. “So we need to talk.” I tell her, closing the camper down I have to crouch down due to my height. “Yes we do, please sit.” She says ok, not the response I expected. “You go first.” She says. “I’m worried about you Elizabeth. You’ve been off these past two weeks. I put it off as stress from semester finals but then finals ended and you still seem off. I’m getting worried. Did I do something?” I say to her. “In a way you did.” She says and I start to panic a little. “Don’t panic Baby. Breathe in and out. Maybe I shouldn’t have said it that way.” She says. “Did I hurt you? What did I do?” I ask, still panicking inside. “You got me pregnant.” She says and everything goes black.

Lizzie’s POV
“You got me pregnant.” I tell her and she faints and falls off the small couch hitting the floor with a thud. “Skylar Baby. Wake up honey.” I say kneeling down patting her cheek a little and her eyes flutter open. “I just had the best dream.” She says. “Honey it wasn’t a dream you fainted.” I tell her and a giant smile appears on her face and she tears up. “It wasn’t a dream? You are really pregnant?” She asks sitting up. “How far along?” She asks. “The doctor said since the beginning of October.” I tell her. “So when you made that joke about getting pregnant an hour after your first time really I did get you pregnant.” She says. “Yes.” I nod. “Is that why you’ve been wearing my sweat shirts these past two weeks? Are you starting to show?” She asks and I take her hand and place it under the sweat shirt on the small bump. “Are you going to keep it?” She asks. “Yes I am.” I tell her. “Wait, we’ve been having sex this whole time, how did I not notice?” She says. “Well the bump isn’t that big.” I tell her. “Fair. But no sex till after they are born I don’t want to hurt them.” She says. “We both know you can’t last seven more months plus it won’t hurt them.” I tell her. “You know me so well.” She smiles. “Who else knows?” She asks. “Just you and the doctor and well me obviously.” I tell her. “Oh and no motorcycle while you are pregnant.” She says. “Ok that one I agree on.” I say. “I was going to wait till New Years but.” She says getting up and getting something out of her bag and then turns around with a ring box. “Oh my god.” I say. “I’m not proposing it’s a promise ring that someday I will replace with an engagement ring. I love you.” She says handing me the box. “It fits perfectly and it’s beautiful. It must have cost a fortune.” I say. “It was the promise ring my Dad gave my Mother.” She says. “Oh my god my family is going to think I cheated.” I say starting to get emotional which is something that’s been happening a lot. “Why would they think that?” She asks. “You never told me I could tell them you are intersex so I didn’t because it’s not my place.” I tell her. “Hey it’s ok. I love that you want to respect my privacy but we will just explain that I’m intersex ok. Don’t panic.” She says. “Let’s get some sleep, we have another long drive tomorrow.” She adds. “You don’t fit on the bed.” I joke. “Eh so what if my feet hang off the bed I don’t mind as long as I get to hold you.” She says. We lay down and she does just as she said she would and holds me in her arms like she does everynight.
