🥀 More Than Just One Word 🥀

It's not "just poetry,"
it's a form of expression.
You may have been instructing
But your words had no discretion

Very few people can do it well
You saying one word is a poem is not swell

I respect you as a teacher,
But you misunderstand
Poetry is not something easy
It takes a special hand

Maybe they have it,
And maybe they don't.
But your words are harsh
And trust them I won't

One word can be amazing,
I'm not saying it can't.
But one word does not make a poem
One word is far too scant.

Poetry is of many words,
Pieced together one by one.
They flow to a universal tune
With the lyrics fabricated and spun.

One word is too simple,
But an impression it can make.
But not an impression like poetry can,
Poetry takes that cake.

Some words are beautiful,
With lots of meaning to give.
But words are created every day
And that is something poetry outlives.

You just can't compare things so unalike
One is simple and beautiful,
And the other brings that beauty to light

One example I can use to explain
Is how we relate to the Earth's terrain

We make up the Earth
and to us, our beauty's irrefutable
But when looking at the whole Earth,
it is so much more beautiful

So can a word be beautiful?
Of course it surely can
But to poetry, it holds no candle
Like how Earth is more beautiful than a single man
