Sorry for the late update, I was going through a writer's block.

DID THIS PLACE EVER FEEL HOME?
A sad smile rests on my face.
It never did.
It has been more than an hour since me and Abhiraj came here, and all I got from my family were subtle nods, and taunts thrown here and there. But only when my husband was not present.
Nothing less did I expect, anyway!
"Is Abhiraj fine with the marriage?" Riya dii shakes me out of my thoughts.
I frown, She really thinks that I'll tell her, "I guess that's why we got married di," She looks over me with disdain.
" He never met you, Ishika. Dadi was saying, Abhiraj didn't meet you therefore you both got married. Otherwise, this Rishta wouldn't have happened. And common who are we joking with, even you know that."
Taking a deep breath, I try pushing the anxiety crawling up my chest. My tears trying to get to my eyes to show her it's not a joke. I was never good at taking negative words, even though that's all I have heard.
Sometimes there is no reason behind one's hatred towards you. They just don't like you, period. Riya's one of them. And maybe Dadi as well.
"We are married now. Other things don't matter."
Exiting her room, I make my way towards the living area, where the rest of the elders are, along with Abhiraj.
I couldn't have stayed longer with her.
Mummy came up beside me, giving me a gentle tap on my back. I gave her a slight smile, "Ivaan is still sleeping, the kid completely drained himself off. "
"That's fine. Let him rest."
"Your dadi and your father are not ready to send him with you, they think it will create problems in your marriage. " I sigh, I have zero interest in convincing them. They suck at this stuff.
" Let them be, I am sure they won't say anything in front of him," I say, eyeing Abhiraj.
"You should be thankful to your dadi to bag you a gem. This boy is a gentleman. I like him." My mother grins in excitement.
I give her a blank look, trying to hide my smile. She and her childishness.
"Lucky you mumma, you bagged yourself a good son-in-law. "
" But I still haven't had a proper chat with him. " She complains.
I tsk in mock sympathy.
" Me too. "
My eyes widened, regretting the words as soon they left my mouth.
"What?"
"What I mean is...we have to leave soon but you people are not leaving him." I try to reason with her, attempting to keep my tone light.
"Why don't you both stay back here tonight." God, please no. I can't handle that. My family members won't let me live peacefully.
"Mumma you could have told that earlier. Abhiraj thought that I was coming only to meet you people."
Abhiraj will have my head, he clearly looks tired and weary. The guy needs a good nap.
And I don't think he'll be ready to spend a night here. Among unknown people. He can't even tolerate his parents for long.
"Okay, as you wish...but next time do stay here for a few days. " I nod in agreement, hiding my detest towards the same.
"Umm Ishika, before you and Abhiraj leave I want you to come along with me to my room. It's important." Dadi gets up from her place, motioning my father to accompany her.
