Chapter 24

The waiting has everyone on edge, and we can't even be sure Bellamy can get the power down for us to get into the mounting.

"Cutting the power doesn't disengage the locks" I say looking at the plan for the coming attack on the mounting.

"We can blow the gates I have a bomb made up so once the power is down we can blow it all up" Raven says joins our small private meeting of just me, Lexa, Echo, Anya amd Octavia.

"Yes but what happens if Bellamy doesn't get the power down?" I ask and Raven shoots me a dirty look which I ignore and continue to pace the tent.

"He will, just give is some more time and the signal will be sent" she says and I just huff.

"We can't just wait around" I snap back the brunette sky girl.

"Plans don't last long in battle" Lexa speaks up raising from her throne and walking over the draw up plans, "there no point tiring are self with questions we already asked and answered is a wasit of energy" she speaks softly.

"People died for this" I growl thinking of all the people we lost at TonDC, my eye meet with Lexa and they soften as she look at me.

"That enough for tonight" Lexa speaks boldly and everyone nods and starts to clear out, leaving only me and Lexa stood over the plans.

It's just me and Lexa and I can feel her eyes watching me as she walks over to her bed and lay down. I start pacing anxious and I can feel the anxious energy this is my first battle since becoming queen.

"Your doing what I did when I took Commander" Lexa says standing up and walking over to me placing her hands on my shoulder. "The waiting and not being able to move forward is giving you to much time to think" she says softly in my ears running her hands up and down my arms. "Once Bellamy disables the acid fog the battle will begin, and then everything will be clear" I relax into her touch. Wanting to believe and trust her everyone.

"What if he can't what if we've sent him to his death?" I ask worried about the sky man whom we've sent to almost certain death.

"You care about him?" Lexa ask in what sounds like a jealous tone.

"I care about all of them, no just him, all our people we lost so many people at TonDC I don't wanna lose anymore Lexa" I growl at her in a low tone, poss she's getting jealous at a time like this.

"I understand, we should rest" she says soticly, her expression back to cold.

"Fine, goodnight Commander" I say turning my back and storming out of her tent to retire for the night.

The morning was hectic between hunting for food and preparing for this up coming bagger everyone on edge and with this many clans in one place one wrong move and we could have our own blood bath.

"Clack, The Commander has called for you?" Echo informs me as she enter my tent, I'm sat eating when she inturps so I decided to finish before heading across the temporary camp to see the Commander. Warriors all around are sharing there blades for what's about to come, Warriors as young at 15 are fighting in this war, they want revenge for what happened to there families and after losing so many men we could refuse there help.
I walk into Lexa large tent to see her sat on her throne look over at me as I enter.

"Clarke" my name role of her tongue in the best when, like she was meant to say my name. "Have we heard anything from the sky people or still silent" she asks

"Nothing as of yet, the camp is growing more and more on edge, we had to stop fight from breakin out with in the camp" i explained.

The clans are growing impatient and it's cause issue among the people with everyone on edge and the newly found peace it all very touchy. There's no trust amongst the Trikru, Azgeda and Skaikru, let alone the rest of the clans.

We talk plans and strategies while we wait, we need to make sure everything runs smoothly. The sun is at its highest point and the autumn chill is in the air when a warrior rushes in.

"Heda come quick" he speaks loudly and mine and Lexa eyes are on him, she signal for us to follow and we do.

That when we see it the red flares light up the sky, it the signal that the acid fog has been disabled and we have the all clear.

"We are now at war" Lexa says softly to me before fixing her clothes.

"They did it" I breath out proud of the ski boy for his accomplishments and knowing the war so about to begin, mine and Lexa eyes meet and we share a smile.

Lexa runs of toward the edge of the cliff and I follow close behind her we look over our people when Lexa speaks up.

"Sound the horn!" She say in her strong commanding tone, the horn is sounded and we look back at each other "To war" Lexa speak in our native tongue looking over our people once again.

Our people start packing there stuff, Raven and one of the sky boys headed of to take down the water system of the mountains to get the door open.

"Are you ready for this Clarke?" Echo asks softly as I enter my tent, i nod my head still unsure and nervous about the battle ahead, I sit and allow her to paint my fact with coal.

"Yes, we will fight this war and then we will have peace" I speak up a after a few silent moments and Echo nods her head in agreement.

I look at the war paint in the mirror and smile sadly, to end this war between the mountains and grounds we must sacrifice many of our own and in hand kill possible innocents from the mountain.
