Chapter 7- Big surprise

MILES MORALES

"I had to cancel my date because of you, you better make this quick alright?" he shot the air and thwipped out a web, flying into the air and attacking the criminal,

"wai-- wait-- not there!" and crash! boom! it hits the school stadium, seeing y/n right under the concrete, he panics and tries his best to remove the damaged wall. Wiping the blood that trickles down her skin.

He brings her out somewhere safe and continues to fight on with that indestructible monster.

2 DAYS LATER

Y/N HAD A MILD CONCUSSION AND FELL INTO A SHORT-TERM COMA

"Oh, my days! I'm so glad my y/n is safe and sound!" y/n's mother hugged her tightly as she ran out of air, "I'm alright Mom, thanks to Spider-Man."

"Whoever saved you owes us his life!!"

She lay down on the hospital bed, expecting to be discharged in a few days since it was somehow a minor injury. Ignoring the fact that a whole ceiling fell onto her, on the bright side she was not badly hurt, the doctors didn't allow many visitors, so they only let certain people in, and they had to take turns. "Ma, I think she's fine now, but they're calling for us," said y/n's younger sister, Addie.

"Get well soon sis, Minny misses you," who used to be her best friend-mate, it was more of like a younger sister, not biologically, like that saying sister from a different mother.

They greeted with goodbyes, and her set of friends finally went in, with fruits and gifts in their hands, "Y/n? How are you feeling?" asked Jelina since she couldn't wait to see y/n. "I'm doing great, I promise,"

One thing struck her mind though, where had Miles been? did he ditch her and wouldn't ask if she was okay? What a terrible boyfriend smh. Why did she bother anyway?

"Earth to y/n??" Ganke snapped his fingers on the bridge of her nose,

"Oh uh sorry, after the hit things have been, y'know-- like-- different?" she says, shrugging and smiling worriedly. "Must've been hard for you" says Harper, who has her arm crossed as she huffed roughly, "I swear, whoever did this to you will pay, I promise! you shouldn't have gone through this and not to mention your date ditching you, that son of a ----- is gonna get it!" Jelina rambled on as it continued to Ganke covering her mouth, in avoidance to get too vulgar with her words.

Y/n couldn't help but laugh, grateful to have friends like them, "have you guys been gifting me these?" y/n asked as she showed them box full of chocolates, taped to a bouquet.

"No... we only gave you some fruits, and some cute clothing gift cards." they shrugged, looking a little worried,

"Oh-- I guess it's probably my dad," except her dad only visited her a few days before, too busy to attend to this sort of reunion. Not to mention none of her friends could have possibly known which was her favorite chocolate brands.

After the exchange kisses and hugs y/n finally can wash up, it was getting late, and the lights were to be switched off. She heads to the washroom and rinses her face, staring at her reflection on the mirror then rubbing her eye with the palm of her hand. She turns the tap back on and brushed her teeth, doing her nightly routine. Her eyes then started to get droopy, leaving the bathroom, she gasps, not the light gasp, a gasp when you're genuinely surprised. Yeah, I shouldn't be too specific.

Anyway, as she heads out the bathroom, she dropped everything she had on her hands. To her surprise it was Miles with a superhero costume, except he's flying...? No, he's sticking to the ceiling. He was dropping off more box of chocolates on the nightstand. She then let out a small shriek and fell onto her buttocks.

"Y/n! I thought you were--" Miles drop his feet to the floor, "Sleeping? and I thought-- you weren't seeing me again... I--" Y/n stammered. What a pleasant surprise to see her crush/friend/best friend, as the superhero buddy who is somehow spider-man, what a perfect coincidence.

To add a cherry on top, what a great way to apologize to her,

"Wait... before you say anything," Y/n paused, "Y'know what I don't need to know, you're just gonna leave me like you did that day,"

"I'm sorry y/n, I didn't tell you sooner, I didn't want you to react differently, and I was afraid that you won't see me the same anymore,"

"See you the same? Why would I ever see you the same after you just left me there with everybody else smooching with their boyfriends and girlfriends, not that I expected you to do such thing... and not to mention you almost know everything about me, spider-man or not spider-man, you're my best friend, was."

"This is what I get when I trust men" she clicked her tongue, then sat on her bed grumpily,

"What? you're just gonna stand there?" she added, and glaring most of the time,

Miles felt the uttermost guilt, then he stated. "Okay, you're right, it's my fault, I should've told you earlier and shouldn't have left you behind, I'm sorry, it wasn't my intention, I wanted to protect you okay, I like you a lot and I just didn't know how to say it. I understand if you don't want to see me anymore, but at least give me another chance, I promise, I won't let you down."

She shot another glare, but hearing the words I like you made her forget everything, "You-- you like me?" she asks, a bit surprise, actually very surprise.

Miles escaped a sigh, "Yeah, I like you, a lot, and for a very long time. I just didn't know how to tell you," He pauses,

His eyes turned to her calf which was now healed after the incident that happened months ago, but it left a scar, a memory that y/n can't forget, that time where she stood up for herself and left that one man crying. (Chapter 5)

"Tha-- that doesn't change the fact that you left me, " She angrily stated,

"I've been here the whole time Princesa," his voice was soothing which sounded just like spider-man who would call her cute nicknames. That word made her flustered too much, she can't even tell if he's manipulatively doing this purposely or trying to beg for her forgiveness because it's working.

"WhAtever, you have a few days before I discharge, but the next time I'm gonna kill you if you try anything funny," she sneered. As Miles chuckled loudly, seeing her mad was quite cute, realizing that her voice becomes rather high pitched with every word she spits out.

On the contrary, Miles was the one to save her in the first place, so she couldn't be too mad about it. The confession in fact, was out of the blue, what if it was just out of pity? Miles isn't like that, is he?

"So... do you like me back? c'mon, who does NOT like me?" Miles smirked as if the argument didn't even happen,

"No, nobody likes you, you're being delusional." She was straightforward and bold, which what Miles liked a lot about her. "You're not there yet man, I'm 'bout to prove you wrong in a few days, trust." y/n liked him way before he even noticed her.
