"Perfect!" Sylvia spun me around, making sure that every part of her 'masterpiece' was perfect.

"Vee, it's just a bonfire." I rolled my eyes. Sylvia had told me that since we were now officially friends, I was more than welcome to call her Vee.

"It's not just any old bonfire. It's the start of summer—the start of making new friends!" Her eyes lit up like Paris getting a new pair of Louboutin shoes.

Sylvia had made me wear a white sundress that had a v-neckline. It reached just above my knees, had two straps on each shoulder and I wore it with my favourite pair of navy blue vans. It was definitely my style and I happy she didn't go too overboard. Sylvia herself was wearing a navy blue jean jacket, a pink shirt dress and brown cowboy boots. I think the girl could rock rags if she wanted too.

"Can we go now?" I whined.

"One sec." She applied her clear lip gloss before turning to me. "Now we can."

We walked out the cabin and I realised that I had no idea where the bonfire was being held.

"Where is the bonfire being held?"

"It's in the woods."

"The woods?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Don't worry. It's not like a wolf will come out and rip our heads off, darling. They wouldn't let us go if it wasn't safe." She chuckled.

Well then.

"Okay..." I nodded. I thought the bonfire would have been in like a big field or something.

"How do you know how to get there anyways?"

She pulled a map out of her pocket and waved it in front of my face.

Sylvia led the way and when we started to hear laughter and chatter, we knew we were there.

There was a huge fire in the centre with thick brown logs at the bottom. The bright yellow and reds flickered, giving off a strong heat.

"Let's get some drinks." Vee pulled my arms towards the drinks table and I smiled when I saw a familiar face.

"Hey Julian." I smiled.

"You know him? I thought it was your first year here." Sylvia looked between us.

"It is." I assured her. "He was supposed to be leading me to our cabin but I lost him."

"I'm really sorry about that. I got to your cabin, looked back and you weren't there. I never did catch your name..."

"It's Rhiannon and don't worry. I got there eventually."

Julian poured some punch into plastic red cups and handed them to us.

"Thanks." Sylvia smiled at him. "I'm Sylvia by the way."

"Er-er..." Julian stuttered. "I'm...er...I'm..."

"You're Julian." I whispered to him.

"Yeah. Julian." He laughed nervously. "I knew that."

"I guess this is my cue to leave now." I backed away slowly and wandered around.

I then started to feel awkward, realising that I was by myself and I probably looked like a loner. I looked around and noticed that everybody had already started forming their friendship groups and so far I had: a bubbly blonde friend, an awkward acquaintance and an annoying idiot.
