Isaac's POV

It has been 3 months. 3 long, painful months. Alex has fully recovered but Adel was still in coma and we could hardly get anything out from Xavier. Carrie was on the run, and her father claimed that he knew nothing of what she did. We interrogated him but we couldn't get anything. He was a suspect since he was the closest to Carrie, and she must have told him something. He didn't say much so we had him locked in the prison. Call me cruel or what, I wasn't going to let anyone off so easily for hurting my mate.

Everyday Colin and I would go to the dungeon to get information out of Xavier but he kept silent. We tortured him, chained him in silver cuffs, contaminated the air with wolfsbane, starved him, and even let him go without water for 1 week. That mutt still seemed to be alive.

The next option would be finding Carrie. It was weird, Colin located Xavier's pack location the last time but we couldn't find it. Alex sent out trackers but we couldn't locate their pack. We asked neighbouring packs if they knew of Xavier's pack but to no avail.

With little clues, we couldn't do much. Adel was bedridden, her complexion was getting worse each day. She looked so pale, her skin looked translucent. Every night, I would go to my room where she lay to hold her hands and talk about my day, which always led to her.

"We didn't gain anything again today.. I tried contacting further packs but they have never heard to the pack too.. If you would just open your beauty eyes, everything would be solved. Look, I can feel your bones when I caress your skin. You're getting weaker each day, yet I can still sense your wolf. You are strong, keep going. Don't let me down, I known you can do it love." I changed her clothes into a fresh set. I let her wear my clothes because it seemed to calm her down. And she looks better in them anyway.

I was supposed to mate with her on the night when there was a blue moon. Due to the delay, my wolf was getting extremely impatient and the bond between us was getting stronger. It was hard to control myself around her. But with fatigue taking over me, I slept beside her, letting her lean against my chest as I fell asleep.

-

"Adel? Is that you?" I squinted my eyes, trying to figure out who the woman was standing in front of me. She had golden eyes and silver hair, and much taller than Adel.

"I am the Moon Goddess. Xavier put her under a spell which made her fall into a coma until she gets marked by him. Actually he tried to mark her, but she resisted and the blood did not fuse completely. So he needs to inject that silver liquid Carrie tried to inject Adel with. It's called the Lacrial. It is strong enough to break the bond between 2 Alpha's blood."

I tried to calm myself down before my wolf took over. "Moon Goddess, I have already destroyed the Lacrial. He won't be able to mark Adel. And I have already marked her."

"He has witches and vampires at his beck and call. If he escapes from your prison, he will always be able to make more. But.. A great spell comes with a great consequence. It requires him to give up 10 years of his lifespan."

"What do I do? We can't even locate his pack.. It must be the spells casted by his witches."

"Yes, you can only do one thing. That is, mark her again. It will remove the connection Adel has with him. However.. She will lose her memories of whatever has happened. She will still feel the bond, and she is your mate. But she will be very confused. Do not pressure her too much, or it will harm her."

"Alright, what about Xavier? He can always take his revenge. Please enlighten me."

"He is blinded by the darkness in his heart. Do not kill him. To deal with him, search for his rejected mate. She will be able to bring him back."

"He rejected his mate? I thought the bond will break."

"It will, but his wolf still wants her. He is confused by his love for his mate and Adel. You must not kill him, or his mate will die of depression. I must leave now, I hope you will do the right thing."

"Thank you Moon Goddess."

I woke up, Adel's frail body was still lying on my chest. I remembered of the conversation I had with the Moon Goddess. I looked down at Adel, she would lose her memory but what matters most is that she is still my mate.

I closed by eyes and took in a deep breath and extended my canines. It would hurt even more this time since it would be her third marking. Slowly I moved closer to her neck, sinking my teeth in her flesh. I tasted her blood for the second time again, it wasn't sweet like the first. It tasted very metallic and I knew it was silver. If I had protected her she wouldn't have to suffer all of these..

Her breathing become even gradually and her complexion looked much better. Her cheeks looked more rosy was she was still as thin as ever. I sat at her side, and took a nap while I wait for her to wake up. I hardly had any sleep last night.

Her fingers twitched and it woke me up. It was already in the afternoon. Her eyelids slowly fluttered open and her emerald eyes stared into mine. It look awhile for her to register what was happening.

"Isaac?!" She shrieked, moving away from me. She was quite active after being in a coma for 3 months.

She remembers me? But did she not miss me?

"How are you feeling?" I stared back at her.

"My head hurts and I feel weak.. It feels like I have been in a deep long sleep. What are you doing here? Where are we?" She asked and became silent for awhile, probably deep in thoughts, pulling the blanket closer to her.

I strode to her shaking figure and cupped her face, kissing her forehead. I pet her hair, knowing that she loved it the most. She seemed more relaxed, loosening up in my embrace. I didn't know what she was thinking but I needed her. She needs me too, to protect her.

"I'll tell you later, you're not in the best condition now."

"How long was I out?"

Her memories were messed up. But I couldn't tell her yet. I decided to tell her about everything when the time was ripe.

I didn't say anything until she realised that our skin were touching, she moved away, changing the topic.

"At least tell me what happened to me."

"Uh, you hit your head and got a concussion. So I brought you to my pack house."

"Alex could have taken me to my pack house. Speaking about packs, why can't I contact Josh, Dylan or Alex? They're supposed to pick me up after school. And is it weird that you feel stronger after hitting your head?" She cocked her head to one side. She looked so damm cute. It's probably because she is now Luna of our pack.

"Hush, for a injured person it's bad to ask too many questions. Stay here, I'll bring you some food. You must be hungry."

"Okay but remember I'm obeying you for food, but you, mister will have to answer a crap ton of questions." She huffed.

I was glad that she trusted me, but I was afraid of her reaction when she found out about the truth. Would it be traumatising for her? I had to tell her soon or she would be living in lies. I made my mind up, I'm telling her about it tonight.
