Chapter 17

Xavier's POV

'Xavier' Carrie purred, linking our thoughts through the mind link.

Looks like the witches have finally stabilised the connection of our mind link.'That's Alpha Xavier.' I replied.

'Well my Alpha at least.' Carrie said in a seductive tone.

What a slut, I hissed in annoyance, hearing a whimper at the end.

'Report every detail to me.' I demanded. I was locked in silver chains this whole time so I couldn't contact anyone. Its supposed to hurt my skin too, but luckily my body has merged with the Lacrial before I got caught so I was much stronger, but not enough to break these seals. By tonight, it should be fully merged and I can break out of this disgusting cage.

'We have prepared everything. The army is ready, geared up and waiting for your order. The witches have also coated all of our claws silver.'

'Surround their pack. When the night falls, attack from the west side. Don't go anywhere near the front and back, there are wolves on border patrol there. Use the Lacrial, it'll melt down the walls. We'll carry the plan out in 3 days.'

'What about Luna Adel and Alpha Isaac?'

'I will handle them myself. NO ONE is allowed to get Adel. You guys focus on their attack. Capture everyone, but don't kill them yet. I have a better idea.'

'Yes Alpha.'

Everything was going according to plan, Adel will be mine and I will have Isaac's head. Perfect! Just you wait Isaac, watch your pack witness your death! I will capture everyone to watch their poor Alpha's head roll off the ground! Such a beautiful sight, don't you agree?

Adel's POV
I remembered what Isaac said to me.

'If you want your pack save and sound, come to the prison tonight. You will leave with me and there won't be a massacre tonight.'

I'm sorry Isaac... I really love you, but I can't risk you or the pack dying. I want to tell you everything that's happened but my wolf is on the verge of death. I... I'm sorry for betraying you.. I guess the best option for me is to leave. *chuckle* I know you'll get mad at me for being such an idiot and you'll go bonkers. Everyone will be afraid of you. Without your lead, the pack won't be able to last long. If it turns out like that, I'll just use the Lacrial on you so that your memories of me will disappear. Maybe then you'll have a happier life, and the pack will get back the leader they'd always loved.

I wrapped a shawl around myself to hide my scent. With Isaac in the study room, I snuck out through the window and ran across the lake to the prison. At least there's a smaller chance of getting caught.

Just as I was about to turn to the next building where the prison was, I heard a voice call out to me.

"Luna?" A border patrol guard caught me off guard.

"Ah! William, was it?" I asked nervously.

"Yes Luna. I'm surprised you remember my name. But that aside, are you well enough to be running around?"

"Oh, I decided to go for a jog. It's really boring to get cooped up in a room after being in a coma for 3 months." I smiled.

"What are you planning Luna.. That way is to the prison.." He took a step closer to me. No! I can't get caught here!

I quickly barged into him, making sure I hit his head hard onto the ground. I landed on top of him, so I could use his large build to an advantage. As expected the impact was so great it knocked him out cold.

Shit! He's bleeding! There wasn't a lot of blood but I couldn't bear to watch a pack member get hurt. I tore a small portion of my shirt and wet it in the lake.

'I hope the lake is clean.'

I gently dabbed it on his wound and used a rock to apply pressure to it so that it would stop the bleeding. His wolf should be able to heal him in 10 minutes.

Oh no, wouldn't a border patrol wolf look too suspicious on the ground? Dammit!! I used all of my strength to pull him to a tree so he could rest there.

Ok, that looks better. I hope.

DAMM THESE LUNA INSTINCTS.

'ADEL YOU DON'T HAVE TIME TO DO THIS! WHAT THE HECK DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING? EVERYONE'S LIVES ARE DEPENDING ON YOU AND YOU'RE HERE WORRYING ABOUT HOW ODD THIS GUY STANDS OUT? WARM MY PAW FOR ME I NEED TO GIVE YOU A GOOD SLAP.' That's probably what my wolf would have said. The feeling of her away from me was heartbreaking.

Ok Adel, get your shit together. Life won't be that happily ever after and it will never be. Fairy tales are just honey coated dreams which will never come true. You'd better wolf up and find Xavier. I took a deep breath and headed towards the prison.

This is it. This is the prison. I closed my eyes and stepped into the prison, trying to be as quiet as possible.

As soon as I got into the prison, Xavier slammed me against the wall and grabbed my chin.

It must be the Lacrial, he used it to escape from the bars. Looking by how it doesn't hurt me, I guess he must have injected Lacrial into me, now that I'm immune to it.

"Beautiful as always." He smirked, turning my chin to have a good look of my face. To look at this pathetic Luna who betrayed her pack and her mate to elope with a monster like him.

I held in my anger, trying not to explode before someone finds us. "Let's go, now." I said firmly.

"Feisty. Oh don't you worry little Luna, I have all the time in the world to do what I want with you." He let go of me. To be honest my jaw was hurting the whole time. And this is just a fraction of his strength? I'm glad I made his decision or the pack would have been shredded to pieces.

Since I couldn't shift into my wolf, Xavier shifted into his and made me ride on top so we could escape quickly.

I turned to take one last look at the pack house and then focused to me and Isaac's room window. With my super vision, I could still see the white rose sitting on the table top. Moments later all I saw was trees blocking it and moonlight was slowly disappearing as we headed deeper into the forest.

Thank you Isaac for what you've done for me. I guess I'm not fit to be your mate after all. I don't seek your forgiveness for my betrayal but I hope that you understand it was for the pack's and your sake. I don't want to lose you but this was the only thing I could help without bloodshed.
