chapter 34

"Why did you leave two years ago?" I asked.

She turned to me to look at me. I was standing still as my heart beat fast. It was so much to take in at the same time. It was a shock to me and what Lucifer must feel. I did not know.

"Lucifer needs you." she put her hand on my shoulder and left from there.

I settled on the bed. I took a deep breath to calm myself. Having a million thoughts, my mind stuck on that one. I am alone here, a human female in a world of devils, and witches. I have no power. I am surrounded by death at my every step.

I calmed my mind and stopped thinking much.

"This is not the time Luci," I told myself.

I came outside. I started looking for Lucifer everywhere. Most of the doors of this palace were locked.

"Lucifer? Are you here?" I asked but I heard nothing.

I went back to the palace. The sight of the place shook me. I gasped.

A river with fresh chilled water flowed in the middle of the field where ample flowers were planted. Numerous creatures similar to a butterfly, dragonflies, and worms were everywhere flying in the sky.

I looked around to see Lucifer. He was standing there with his back facing me. I sighed.

"Lucifer" I called politely.

I went near him. I stood with him looking at the view. It was silence for a moment which he broke.

"You knew this. Didn't you?" he asked without looking at me.

I nodded. He stopped talking.

"I know you are hurt but-"

"You knew this a long time ago. Didn't you?"

"Y...yes"

"why didn't you leave me?" he turned to look at me.

"Because I love you."

He was silent.

"We have a connection. You were in my dreams for a reason. We are soulmates, Mr. Devil. Even if you want to leave me, you can't. You are mine. Now and forever." I smiled.

"I am a danger for everyone, for the world."

"not for me."

"I am not a hero. I am a villain Lucia."

"I need you, I want you. If not as a hero, then as a villain."

"What if I...I...I try to harm you? What if they...They try to do anything to you just because of me." he was worried. For me.

"Even if you want to kill me someday, I will be lucky to get killed by you. And if they try to kill me, you will protect me. I know. Lucifer, you are no danger. You are still Lucifer, the man I love, the man I know. The Devil does not make you dangerous, you are the one who makes the Devil look difficult Marcel is human but inside he is a devil. Even if you are a devil, you still have a human heart beating inside you. Don't let anything change you. I am with you, always. Please don't regret staying with me. I can't live without you."

I saw him crying. I hugged him. He was calming slowly. He was not worried about being a devil. He was worried about me staying with a devil. Everyone in his life left him. He didn't want me to leave him and I won't.

"Remember, you are not a devil. You are Lucifer. The man I love." I looked into his eyes.

I held his hand and made our way inside.
