"Do you mind if I join you?"I nodded softly and coughed a bit before looking up to meet the man's eyes. He was tall, dark haired, very handsome.. But not really my type. He wore a dark grey collared business shirt with black skinny jeans that had some distressing but no large holes. He paired the two with all black vans, it was an odd combination but he made the outfit work. When he met my eyes back it was then when I realized he had beautiful hazel eyes with the brightest green highlighting, they were beautiful. But they weren't anything compared to Luke's beautiful blue irises.
The man sat down in the booth across from me and propped his nicely folded hands on the table with half his forearms.
I began to loosen up around him seeing as though he gave off a friendly and calm ora, something I desperately needed in my condition.
I reached across the table and held my hand out for him to shake "I'm Faith" I said to him and he easily returned the gesture, clasping his hand with mine and giving it a light shake "I'm Jason".
Jason... That sounded like a name that some bad boy would have, but he seems very nice.. I enjoy his sweet company.
"So Jason, what do you like to do?" I asked him as the waitress brought my food over and set it down in front of me. I thanked the lady and waved her off before turning my attention back to Jason.
He seemed a bit startled by the question but he brushed it off. I mean it was a bit abrupt of me to ask but it wasn't really much of a question.
Jason coughed a bit to clear his throat before carrying on with his reply "I uh.. I like to go to rock shows a lot, Even if I don't know the band it's just the way the crowds react to the music gets me so happy. I like football but I was never much of an athlete, more like guy #1 in those stupid high school movies. I dunno I just like simple things. I go down to the city a lot and just roam the streets.. Every time I'm there I have to stop in Central Park because it's just so beautiful there"
I watched him speak and could only focus on his three defining features.
1. His lips... They were so full and looked very soft, 2. His eyebrows.. They were tamed quite well and had a very distinct shape to them, 3.His eyes. They were literally the lightest, greenest orbs you've ever seen with tiny bits of hazel streaking near his pupils, I must've been staring because Jason cleared his throat again noticing my odd daze that were fixated on his beautiful face.
I could feel my cheeks flush and I shook my head slightly, shying away from his now weird glare he had on me. "I'm so sorry.. It's just that you're eyes are so..different. I've never seen anyone's eyes so different and vibrant as yours, except for my boyfr- my friend, Luke's eyes. His eyes are really really blue but he doesn't have those cool hazel stripes in his eyes like you do.. They're just fascinating. Again I'm really sorry for staring"
I'd almost called Luke my boyfriend. We weren't even together and I don't even know how I feel about us. But the fact that I just brought him up in front of this gorgeous specimen was definitely the stupidest thing I've ever done.
Jason just smiled and nodded but he didn't speak. I could tell he was biting the inside of his lip and I felt bad that I'd basically just brought out the boyfriend card on him.
"Um.. Luke's not my boyfriend, we were a thing but it's a habit" I spoke up but not as confident as I'd hoped.
Jason looked up and nodded, sighing a bit. "Oh no it's okay... If you still have feelings for him, I completely understand. Relationships are hard to deal with. I'll back off of you, I'm sorry" he said and was about to get up before I grabbed his hand.
"No no it's okay.. You can stay here. I like you here" I smiled and he sat back down with me.
"Good. I like being here with you"
