That night Luke rescued me I felt nothing but gratitude and devotion towards him. I'm guessing he felt the same because when all of the boys and I got back to the house and, ate a delicious dinner whipped up by yours truly... Luke proposed
He got down on one knee and made this beautiful speech about how much he loves me and go he will continue to love me for the rest of his life because he knows deep inside him that I'm the only one for him. So he trusted that gut feeling and ran with it, all the way to the nearest Tiffany store to pick out the one ring that I'd gushed about for months on end.
We were engaged until I graduated five years later from Columbia University in New York, Where we had our wedding in Central Park. Conventional, I know but it was beautiful and I honestly wouldn't have wanted that day to go any other way than it did.
After we got married we had our honeymoon in Cabo where 2 weeks later I started becoming very nauseas and I'd feel extremely fatigued for about three hours. This went on for a long time so we decided to fly home and get tested.
Turns out I was pregnant
Luke and I had bought an apartment when we moved to New York from Vermont for College. But obviously now we needed a new... More family friendly home. So we moved to Cheshire, Connecticut, cutest little town I've ever been in, We went house hunting for three weeks cause we couldn't decide on a single house. We moved into a pleasant family home in a private neighborhood with a secluded driveway. The big backyard is surrounded by the woods but its fenced in for safety reasons.
The boys have been so supportive, they've helped us paint the house and pick the flooring, along with most of the furniture. Surprisingly, Mikey is quite the interior designer. They helped Luke build the nursery and put all the furniture together which was a big help. All together the preparation for the baby was going along smoothly. That was until one night, around 4 a.m. I was about 8 and a half months pregnant, I felt my water break. Luke rushed me to the hospital and the boys met up with him there. I'd started going into labor but the contractions hadn't gotten strong and the baby wasn't moving out. They had to preform a C-section in order to save the baby and me. My body was doing well enough to carry a child but not to give birth to them. It wasn't until after I came to, I realized that I almost died trying to bring another human into this life, Or in this case two humans, Two identical twin girls.
They were extremely premature but luckily my girls were saved after a stressful month in the hospital. They were born at 41 weeks premature but other than some minor health monitoring they were perfectly healthy and so was I.
Now we are Faith Lee Hemmings, Luke Robert Hemmings, Lauren Rae Hemmings, and Kate Dorothea Hemmings.
We're a different kind of happy ending.
