The broken songbird

It was only half of me.

Baby, can't you see?

We were going down.

All the way down.

Baby, it was clear to see.

You were not the one for me.

The one to be.

Maybe in another life.

With no time in sight,

There was a you and me.

I hope that I was happy.

And that you gained your faith back in love.

Your tears falling from the sky.

I wish they would dry.

Raining down,

You silence this songbird.

My tune relied on your joy.

Now the connection is lost.

Broken on the inside

To find a new tuner,

Is to find new love.

That I am not ready

Without you there.
