"Let's talk presentations."
Had there ever been a worse sentence known to man? Well, yes, actually. You'd heard a few from Shigaraki early on in your arrangement.
It was stupid to think you could get away from him so easily—though, in your defense, you'd completely forgotten about the project that had brought the two of you together in the first place, as had the professor, apparently, since this was the first time he'd mentioned it in weeks
"Since we're nearing the end of this unit, I think it's about time for everyone to share the deep-dives they did on the various writers that we've covered briefly in class. Everyone should be prepared to present their projects next week. Remember that you will be graded both on the content in your slides as well as the way that you present it. So, don't just leave it for the last minute and read off of the screen. Make sure you and your partner rehearse."
You could feel Shigaraki's eyes on you. You'd felt them since the moment you sat down, actually, but you ignored him. You had been ignoring him all weekend, and, while you were relieved, you were a bit shocked that he hadn't reached out to you either. You'd hoped it meant he was already over what had happened between the two of you, but then, if that were the case, why was he watching you so intently?
When class finally ended, you rushed to throw your books into your bag, not wanting to stick around long enough for Shigaraki to find some excuse to talk to you. You didn't even say goodbye to Hana and Akiko, just ducked out of the classroom as fast as you could. As you sped down the hallway, you felt someone hot on your heels. You had a feeling you knew who it was. You didn't turn, wanting to empathize that you were still ignoring him.
"Hey," a voice other than Shigaraki's called from behind you, "Y/n, slow down!"
Caught off guard, you listened and turned to find Touya coming down the hall.
Right. . . your other problem.
You frowned at him and turned back around without saying a word.
"Oh, come on! Don't be like that. I just wanna talk."
"I don't have anything to say to you."
He caught up to you, spinning you by your arm so that you were forced to face him. "Well, I have something to say, so just hear me out."
His beautiful, bright blue eyes sparkled in determination. He meant business.
You crossed your arms over your chest. "What is it?"
"I just wanted to say i'm sorry about the other night. I didn't mean to upset you."
"Oh. Well, thanks."
"Can I take you out to make it up to you?"
You bit your cheek, thinking of the pictures and what he'd tried to do to you. You doubted his apology was genuine—just another calculated move. "I don't think that's such a good idea."
"Aw, come on, I apologized. You really won't give me another chance?"
"She said 'no.'"
Now, that was Shigaraki's voice, and you were actually a little relieved to hear it in that moment. Of course, you wouldn't ever admit it to him. You were still pissed at him for what he'd done to you.
Touya scoffed. "What, do you speak for her now?"
"Only when you aren't listening to her."
"Just back off, Twiggy."
"What are you gonna do if I don't? You gonna make me?"
You butted in before a fight broke out. The last thing you needed was for those two idiots to draw attention. "Will you two knock it off? I honestly don't want to talk to either of you. You're both equally the worst."
